30 years ago...I practiced meditation . By reading Swami Vivekananda book I do meditation . Finally I able go to deep meditation. But for all these you need develop your Bhakthi . Without Pure Bhakthi, you can't reach the light ( jothi). So, first you need chanting mantra.....! By chanting the mantra you will feel the vibration begin. It is an experience, feeling and blessed. Vibration help you reach the light. Everyone in this life time, at least one time must reach the light. It is full of happiness, blessings... can't tell in words..🙏 experience. The light, it is within you.

4 stages in breathing meditation. 1. Take a posture which is maintainable. Easy and not painful. Movement of body to be avoided (not in a rigid way). Be relaxed, Be aware. 2. Be focused from head to toe. Feel the sensations. Bring body to centre stage of awareness. 3. Narrow the awareness even further till the breath. You will feel the breath in the nose, around face, in tummy, coursing through out the body. 4. Bring attention to tip of the nose. Breath passing in and out. Sensation in nostrils. Let the thoughts and feelings come, but let them be in the background.

The mindfulness book "30 Days to Reduce Anxiety" by Harper Daniels is good. It has 30 exercises for meditation and mindfulness that are helpful and practical. Mindfulness is a game changer.

Always looking forward to Swami’s wise words and simple way of articulating pure wisdom. My spiritual quest got its pinnacle through his words. I am indebted and consider him my Guru. I respect ur feelings about ur feelings about swamy ji but he himself does not refer to him as a Guru. Guru is incarnation of God on earth. Only Ramkrishn Parmhans and swamy Vivekananda fall in the category of a SATGURU. If not believe me than ask him

Instead of 1 to 10' , I found it more convenient to start from 10 to 0 and no further in descending order so that there will be end to thoughts also after 0.

Thank you Swamiji for this nice introduction to mindfulness. I have been practicing mindfulness for the last 4 years and find it a very practical technique to cultivate awareness. As the awareness is developing, it is becoming easier to understand and practice advaita vedanta............Om!!!

I am very much thankful to Swamiji for uploading this session. When i reach number 5 I usually find my mind is wandering somewhere else then again I start counting from one. This is did for couple of times and then one time I just made sure to complete till ten without interrupt. Swamiji if you have more sessions after this one please upload them. what is remarkable is that in spite of the persisting, nagging ache , with some measure of bhakti, if we concentrate deep, sometimes when we go further into the realm of bhakti in that meditating posture, suddenly there is no pain at all , but being mundane creatures as we are, just the moment you feel the absence of pain, the mind will slip down from that bhakti -stage and immediately you will feel the sting of pain.

Swami Sarvapriyananda always say in a manner of classmate helping classmate,elaborating what can be the problems, what is the easiest way to overcome it.... Explaining to us in our level of understanding, with jokes n experiences, not as an authority, not from the position of a guru, professor, teacher... But so sweetly, like a friend. His name given is so truly suits him.

@@adnanadill that's what we call as Advaita. A true Advaita or a realised sadhu never distinguishes religion nor he belongs to any. He sees everything with unanimity. I to agree that Allah is Ishwar, Ishwar is Jesus, we all are nothing but one truth. You question about Ram is something neither i am in a position to clarify you nor you will be satisfied with any answer. Isn't there similar stories of sacrifices in Islam. Every religion tries to teach in the capacity of one practising.

How foolish we are, vipashyana pranayam is realy good practice to fall asleep,releasing tension easier than purak kumbhak rechak that what is narrated in Geeta. The great swamiji a spritual learned monk teaches in Indic tones like simple Hindi language making it so easy to understand and follow. It seems ancient Rishis Munis have taken birth on this land of ours,fealing proud of him. Om Shanti

One more best method is. Just be still and observe the inhale and exhale. Inhalation and exhalation shouldn't be intentional. Let breathing process happen naturally . You be observer of breath. When you are just observer the duality vanishes and the Witness consciousness is realised. Dissolve the witness consciousness to with deep insight. You realise shunya. The Brahman.

During this meditation always mind arrange some trip by sending thought as vehicle.We should not forcefully but very gently bring our attention to breaths. Mind may be blank for a very short period then the thoughts of I am calm, I am observing this thoughts again come. One should be patient in bringing the attention from different thoughts to breath again and again in the beginning.This is my experience. 🙂

It is true, that Buddha Vipasyana is the first step, then comes Jnana Yoga of Advaita. When this two system become grounded in oneself, next only next comes Bhakti. This three system comes in sequence. This is the best way........ There is another system, yet another, the Raja Yoga. In Raja Yoga one attains the Ashtama Siddhi. Even though this power is not preferable, but the Guru, the teacher needs it. This will be next quest in this modern era. There will rising of such being in this world, because they are needed in this age, this age of nuclear weapon.

It was very good .external disturbance cause little anger I had to change the place , little bit of anger persisted then acceptance was there and awareness was back .I counted upto 10 many times in marathi language .

Pranam Swamiji and thanks to back end team for making these videos available to us... I have undergone 10 days Vipassana residential meditation program and there this breathing technique is called ANAPAN. I am curious what swamiji thinks about the Vipassana meditation..I think this is the same what swami ji explained in this video but not sure if it is really the same thing.. Pranam Swamiji🙏

When comes the topic of Meditation, Goutam Buddha's teachings are the only way. Buddha's most important sermon about techniques of Meditation is 'Mahasatipattana Sutta' where we find everything in detail and everything is conclusive there.

@@roneelsingh9528 , .... Mahasatipatthana sutta is an integral part of 'Aryo Attangika Maggo' (the Noble Eightfold Path). Goutam Buddha, Himself pronounced it as 'Ekayeno maggo' (the only way) to attain Nibbana. By following the path, He became the BUDDHA, no one else.
