theres a famous dutch photographer who made hundreds of pictures around the Netherlands of these, we call them olifantenpaadjes, elephant trails. because of how much we walk and bike here, they're literally everywhere

Oh that’s really cool, I didn’t know that! Do you know the photographer’s name? I would love to see them.

@@MindfulThinks I said famous but I lied haha, thought so because I saw him around a bunch, but he's a fun guy regardless. collecting pictures of them, Jan Verhagen

You seem like a smart person making a valid contribution. Therefore may I point out that your lack of capitalization signals either that you are arrogant (you do not need to everyone is a grammar Nazi) or disrespectful (in which case why should anyone listen to you), faddish (in which case your opinion might likely change so why listen to you?) or a moron (which I think not true). It’s not cool to use poor grammar or capitalization, you are simply sending a signal you did not intend.

@@RoyT64 I am arrogant and a moron, you send some of the same signals by replying like that lmao, it's just the way I type. you should listen to people who change their opinion btw, it's a good thing, if the reasons behind it are logical ofc

@@croozerdog lost cause. It’s the way you type. Good luck with that then.

We have lots of these in my apartments where I live. You can tell the area was designed around cars, and there just aren't sidewalks connecting some key areas. Like to the mailboxes, there's exactly one direction you can approach from and not have to cross the street across over a curb.

It’s funny to me how obvious it can be when an area has been designed with cars in mind and not people. I’ve seen neighborhoods without sidewalks before. Where are people supposed to go?

You can find these pretty much anywhere where I live. Most paths made for walking here are relatively well done to the point where you don't really get many but a lot of places here are still designed in a way where people will just ignore the intended path and walk their own path, personally I call this "walking the ideal line" just like in racing where you'd drive the ideal line across a track people tend to do a similiar thing when walking, even if it just cuts the walking time by a couple of seconds over time that will add up.

Please see my comment above on your grammar and capitalization. My certainly unfair assumption at this point is that you are students at Columbia.
