i'm not sure if most of fincher's obsessive unnoticed CGI is worth the budget, but i agree with most of the changes. they do make the composition more dramatic.

I love how they removed the ramp on the sidewalk at 1:28, a very subtle change but it gives away the dedication they've put in making this world feel more unforgiving

That's what I like about Fincher, many filmmakers wouldn't care about little things like ramps, but little things like that are what makes the show so authentic

Can You explain WHY did they remove ramp and replaced one tree for another?

@@vladimirserdyuk6795 Curb lowerings were introduced by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 on a federal level (some states had them before though). The trees were replaced to match the season of the setting, and to make it easier to replace skies (CGI trees are composited on top of sky layers, so you don't need to paint out around every leaf).

The CG buildings on the aerial shots are kinda obvious to me (also the CG plane), but the rest of VFX shots are stupendously unnoticable!

It doesn't matter if you guess it from here or by directly watching the show, it should be obvious to you right when you saw those scenes at first.

​@@GuyWhoLikesTheSnarkies1435 wow, you got worked up over that I'll be realistic and say that the only thing I would've noticed, while watching the show, would be the plane. mostly because the placement really sticks out and it's very cliche thing for an establishing airport shot to show a plane take off. I probably wouldn't even notice the strangely static rooftop ventilation exhaust on those aerial shots, because in those couple of seconds I'd probably be preoccupied with the show's plot.

The best visual effects are the totally seamless ones. And all this work is totally seamless. The attention to detail in Mindhunter is masterful. There's not a fault with the series apart from it not going into a third season. Such a missed opportunity for Netflix which needs to keep its top shows in production.

This shows exactly why it took so long for them to make this season. Fincher is obsessed with details which makes his projects so incredibly interesting to watch. This is a phenomenal use of visual effects, the best CGI is when you don’t even know it’s CGI.

It's called perfecting your work to the best of your ability and not being lazy. Obviously, any show or movie set in the past can't be 100% historically accurate, there's always going to be mistakes and things forgotten about, but that doesn't mean that they shouldn't care. It doesn't matter who notices small details and who doesn't, clearly, the creators of the show wanted to make the curbs accurate. And for the few people like me, who's an absolute sucker for small details, I love and respect this show all the more when I see them go out of their way to make things accurate

i think it's about our expectations. we don't expect they would made CGI of this bunch of trees or that building, so we don't notice even if it's bad. not saying this is bad though.
