Completely invisible vfx, had no idea this much work was done. Amazing

It's amazing the work you guys did. Just how seamlessly it blends with the set and the lighting; i was sincerely baffled to see that the window was also a chrome key, i could've swear that shot was real somehow.

I would not have thought that the under-highway needed CGI vegetation. It looks very cool

something like that makes me think Fincher overdoes cgi a smidge. I'm sure it would've been cheaper to have a set decorator hang foliage on those beams. I can definitely see why a should-be simple show like Mindhunter is too expensive for netflix tbh

Wow😮That's truly amazing the amount of fvx that went into a simple hotel sequence like that! I kept asking myself, what is real in film these days???

Great work from the Artemple, but as I'm watching these Fincher breakdowns, I can't help but start thinking that he overuses it quite a bit. Many of these shots would have been just fine without these additional touches, imo.

There's way more CGI than what's shown here. At times this was an animated movie. But still: all invisible. Still a masterclass.

That's top tier work. Completely invisible, the best kind of visible in vfx. How many artists worked on this and for how long?

Really gorgeous work throughout, and I appreciate the detail of making sure the background in the OS shots were lens blurred properly (example at 1:04), however when I watched the film (and it's now confirmed here) I noticed that the reflections were not, they appeared to just be gaussian (or similar) blurred. Was there a reason for this, beyond render time? It's not something likely noticeable in wide shots/shots featuring many windows at a time, but in all of the killers closeups looking through the "glass" (example at 1:26) it pulled me out and felt or artifice. I'm just curious as to the reason. That mentioned, still, brilliant work throughout the film, and speaking of the glass reflections, I tip my hat to the reflection movement in the shot where the killer opens the window and we see everything flawlessly streak past.
@kakiFTW Жыл бұрын
The blur is simulated lens defocus matched to how the lens would look, with continuous feedback from Fincher. Its not some guessing game.
@anurandev7337 Жыл бұрын
It can also be a creative choice by Fincher to not go for a completely physically accurate defocus for stylistic or compositional reasons as he’d want to juxtapose the killer and the reflections just enough but not too much or too little

Is this really all the VFX, or is this a clever use of editing by this channel? It’s awesome regardless, but I just wondered if this was the company releasing this or what, being such a recent release of such a wickedly cool film.

There is way more VFX done in this movie. For instance the whole scooter chase scene is greenscreen.
