I'm living proof of everything these guys are saying - I'm 54 and a woodworker for over 30 years - I can get up off the couch and do 20 pull-ups - I can bend at the waist, touch the floor walk with my arms into a plank and do 50 push-ups then walk back on my hands and stand up - All because I do "something" every day... And I still beat myself up over thinking I don't do enough - I'm also a Marine vet which all my friends point out to me as if that's the only reason I do all this and they can't/don't - I'm always trying to get my friends to do anything and it's worked on a lot of them. I was on a road trip for a couple months this fall and trained a pal from HS wile I was home - While I was there he went down a shirt size and two holes on his belt... Just do SOMETHING every day - As far as real workouts, stick to the 70% rule, just put 70% effort into real workouts - this way you'll do it every day - If you beat yourself up and get too sore, you won't work out the next day...

I've been telling people this for years, but most people would rather have a cut bodybuilder physique. No weights needed, the bare minimum will keep you fit. You like TV?...fine when a commercial comes on do some push ups ect. It builds practical strength. Plus you have more time than you realize. No matter their size, I've seen multiple people who do this outmanuever those who don't. It's so easy!... Yet so hard for people to buy into.

@Top Trending Running water is clear, ponds Settle. All that matters is that you move. It's cool if you can, but most people don't need the ability to squat Shaq. But those body mechanics are something you'll want to keep all your life. It's the simple things that matter.

50 used to be normal for me years ago. Now I’m far from it. I’m at the start now, but I discipline my day to include push-ups. I waste time playing video games so I make myself do 10 push-ups every time I lose before I can play again. Honestly I’m happy I found the drive and for me to keep this energy positive I scale it down to short term goals because 20 and 50 psyched me out before, but scale it down to 5 or 10 I can totally do. I’m at 150 a day and looking to get it to 500 by the end of week one. Short term goals like this for me is attainable and nurtures my motivation to still be there tomorrow and the day after

The gym guy set us a series of warm ups that I have done ever since, and it leads my brain to getting positive and wanting to do more healthy exercise. Ran a marathon this year under 4hrs and have just got to stage of doing ten pull ups. Daily preasups in sets of ten whenever I make a cup of tea. Keeps me sane and pretty healthy.

Started doing a 100 pushups a day in December last year. Getting up out of a chair and just knocking them out daily 25 to now 55 at a time, and now I'm up to 1300 a week. Sometimes I do 400 a day with a minimum goal of 1k a week. It creates that habit as mentioned and transferred into me getting back into running which has led me to drop my covid 30+ pounds and back to eating more healthy. Start small and create the momentum for change. Just be consistent, however small and the change will come.

I started back in December doing 30 pushups every morning. I do this throughout the day every 4 hours. Take no whey nonsense but consume alfalfa powder, flax seeds, chia seeds and pumpkin seeds and ive gain loads of mass and feel much stronger. My biceps have grown just under 1 inch in 6 weeks. Ive also gone from 62kg to 70kg. My target weight is 75kg.

At least 80-100 pushups & situps everyday for a few yrs. Running 1.5-2 miles, 4 days a week, then 50-100 hindu squats 3 days a week. Only weights I've touched are a light barbell and 30-35lb dumbbells for biceps & forearms. Also add neck bridges four days a week before bedtime. This was basically my exercise routine while Boxing as a kid/teenager. Worked great back then & continues to do so!

I served in the USS Navy back in the day. Life was super boring on a ship. While working throughout the day, I'd did randomly do 30-50 pushups/squats. Almost like a game. Then hit the weight room. I was in good shape. These "mini" workouts are great as an older busy adult. Calisthenics burn a lot of calories, functional, and easy on the joints. Also gives you muscular endurance for pushing out extra reps when lifting weights. Its like staying ready so you don't have to get ready.

Due to my medication I used to be really skinny but now my girl says I look like an ad. 😆 Edit: also I wanted to share that I use buckets to do my push ups so when I go down I can drop lower than normal and use more muscle fibers to push myself back up. Plus it makes you chest thick. Also vary my hand and bucket placement.( wide, shoulder width, triangle )

This shit works! I also took into consideration of Joe Rogan's podcast with an interviewer who I forgot the name of. In summary, he doesn't go hard in his MMA / strength & conditioning workouts at all. He does everything with a good amount of effort without tiring or pushing his limits because he's going to do it again the next day and the day after, and in the end you ultimately lose hours in the art you're focusing on. Another thing is the book called "Atomic Habits" by James Clear. I used his habit building method to do callisthenic movements everyday. For example: Do 10 pushups waking up, 10 Pullups exiting my room, 10 Squats going up the stairs, etc. You can make whatever works for you! These guys got it right.

Im in my early 20s. I use to do 200/300 push ups a day in one sessions of multiple reps. Did this for a few years.. So slighty different to what they are suggesting. I ended up with constant clicks in my shoulders. Either due to bad form or due to over use of the same Movement. A physio told me it's early atherititis like due to the pushup. Make sure you balance any calisthenics exercise out with other body exercises to train your body overall. Besides that what calisthenics is!

You can work out for an hour or two once a day and sit on your butt the rest of the day, and health wise you are not doing yourself any favors. If you are a bodybuilder those workouts are necessary and productive. For health and fitness and some nice results it’s better to do a little each hour or two throughout the day. At night when watching tv get up at the commercial breaks and do a few pushups or squats. Just move throughout the day and you will be doing yourself a favor.

I’ve been doing this for awhile now and it’s really effective. For the past five months, I’ve been doing at least 5,000 push ups a month. I do anywhere from 100 to 250 push ups a day in order to get that. This is among a few other exercises that I do. I’m an ultra marathoner and this really helps with keeping muscle during high volume trying and building muscle during lower volume weeks that also works out these muscle in a more endurance type way. For me, all the exercises I do are simply body weighted exercises. And I don’t want to throw up 250 pounds on the squat bar on a week that I’m doing 100 miles to maintain because I don’t want to get injured. It’s great for staying healthy, maintaining, and continuing to improve without injury.

For example 2 sets of 20 pushups, 10 dips, than 10 pullups and 2 sets of 20 inverted rows, legs 2 sets of 15 goblet squats, 20 split squats. If i feel myself i add more different exercises and/or more sets but never go below 150.
