When I was into powerlifting, I would do what I called a “speed” day. Basically a deload workout every other week with lighter weights but just trying to focus on technique and moving explosively.

There is also this "piano" lessons that went on for over 6 months where they had a group of students practice on the piano and another group practice in their head and after the 6 month period the mind practice guys almost played as good as the group that actually played the piano.

Practicing purely in the mind isn’t gonna work for piano. You need some real practice for the muscles to get a sense of rhythm and space in ways they can’t through visualization. A combo of visualization and activity is most effective. Same goes for other forms of training that I know they’ve studied.
