I think mini bulks are particularly useful when you're trying to regain the muscle you once had. Muscle memory makes it really convenient to bulk quick.

maybe, you could also regain that muscle during maintenance, the thing I disagree with them is the mini bulk, for naturals, mini bulks just don’t work. Not enough time to grow during just a couple weeks

The only time I incorporate mini bulks is when I have been dieting for a prolonged period of time and notice some size loss. I will bulk for 2-3 weeks only to regain the lost size and then begin the cut again. For example; Ive been dieting now for about 12 weeks. Maintained all my size measurements the entire time while dropping weight / looking leaner. Then suddenly yesterday I woke up and noticed my chest and legs was an inch smaller than usual, suddenly in just one day ( i am already lean so I know its not an inch of fat loss). So now I will incorporate a mini bulk to regain that lost size /glycogen loss in the muscle, to me this is a sign that my body is starting to fight back now and lose muscle.

@@rud69420 No, Glycogen, sarcoplasm etc. All the stuff that looks good in the mirror. Muscle fiber itself is just a part of the actual size of the muscle. All the other stuff makes a big difference too.

@@chrono8233 Right. I just wonder why you would look at an overnight size decrease and think that means you need to get out of a deficit and regain muscle, considering you probably didn't lose any muscle overnight.

@@rud69420 Not permanently. Just increase the carbs a tiny bit until I regain the size.

@@chrono8233 being flat doesn't mean you've lost muscle though. Why not just keep dieting and then regain the size when you maintain or mass again?

I think the exact moment you realise that it's time for a mini bulk is when you see that your strenght is decreasing or it's steady, am I wrong?

Really interesting. I’ve been doing 8 week bulks and 8 week cuts for about 2 years, and definitely increased size and strength, but always seem to get an bit too fat on bulks and lose some strength on cuts. I like this structure of a month bulk, a month cut. I suspect (no data just personal observation) that we build the most muscle on a bulk during the first month anyway, and growth becomes increasingly less efficient the longer we go. I’m looking forward to putting carbs back in the menu this month.

Why am I only hearing this now after 7 years of 'finger in the wind' cutting/bulking? As a female I don't want fat gains or to get emaciated in order to uncover muscle. This makes damn sense to me, better late than never!

How much of the so called "lost/burnt muscle" is replaced or replacable?

IMO it will depend on how you're cycling your cut. If you are doing mini cuts it should be very quick, longer you run the risk of paring down muscle and will take longer to rebound. Muscle will respond relatively quickly in comparison to building new cells but will depend on each person, diet, training and length of cut.

Usually you go back to maintenance or some where up to a 500 calorie deficit. Everyone is different so you just kind of have to experiment with it. Im currently trying to figure out my own body too.

@@uwatmusic this is a minicut. Why tf would you do as little as possible. It's only gonna last 2 to 4 weeks. Cut hard cut fast then go back to bulking
