For a Elite to even challenge for the right to become clan leader he has to clear out a hive with no more the two other predators of one queen alien and no less the 200 normal ones. The one that kills the queen gets to keep her skull and A Elite needs to have three skulls before he can challange for tribe leader and breeding rights, but even the ones that dont get the skull gain massive honor an status in the tribe for completing the hive. THats what was going on in AVP the predators there where going through their first hive clear trial to increase their honor in the tribe thats why the Ancient tribe leader was their to watch and if they did fail make sure no aliens got out into the world.

The fact that Xenomorphs are now a ritual passage for young Yautja is also a sign that the Aliens were originally weaponized by The Engineers against the Predators but the latter overcame the threat and made it part of their culture. And the series should be largely non-dialog, and predominantly told through visuals and sounds, like Primal on Adult Swim. Not everything needs an explanation or some insane deep lore connecting it to other franchises. Sometimes, most of the time even, a mysterious and almost unknowable entity is the best when it comes to horror. The xenomorphs were so terrifying and in Alien because of that idea. We can slap on some of our own ideas about them, the weird designs being vaguely phallic, the mouth rape to reproduce, etc. but we don't need a Prometheus movie to explain every thing about them. It cheapens it. So a movie just about the Predators is not only unnecessary, it retroactively ruins every movie that came before. We can understand predators just fine, we understand the primal fear of being hunted as well as the thrill of the hunter. And when there is a human character who prevails over a stronger, faster enemy due to their humanity, their instincts and skill, we can cheer for that protagonist even as we feel a chill thinking on how "I" would have fared in that situation. If you humanize the foeman over much, the Predator, you lose any actual interest in the outcome. You dehumanize it, paradoxically. The experience is diluted to the point that the human winning hold no less value than him dying in the end.

Nice! We definitely need Predator movies that focus solely on the Yahtja hierarchy. Also, we need a console open world/quest game where you can progress through the ranks, be a male or female, and take on mates if you want.
@guibox32 жыл бұрын
The problem I see with that is we'd end up 'humanizing' them; getting too familiar with them. There is something mysterious about this alien race of warriors that come unbidden and unexpected in our world and wreak havoc, then leave. Having a movie from their perspective would take away that mystery that the original Predator (and the recent Prey) have established in our minds.
@grimnir88722 жыл бұрын
@@guibox3 I always felt that was actually one of the biggest pros to the Predators. They're not alien beings beyond our mentality, They are extremely understandable, with traits like Hunting, Honor and family that humans can reflect. But they represent a throwback that Modern Humans try to bury, the tribalistic, savage hunting past of Humanity. The first Predator movie pointed this out, with how it Laughed at the end, fully showing that it is not some emotionless monster, it's an intelligent, thinking emotional being.

Why doesn’t anyone talk about their intelligence? How have they discovered fast than light travel? How old are they because at some point they had to have discovered rockets, more advanced engines, alternate fuels, all the places the human race is at.
@OMDAIZY2 жыл бұрын
I believe they Learnt it from the race that used to enslave the Hish(yautja relatives), much like you, now, being able to use a plane or fire a rocket launcher by being shown how to use it. I can use tech that I wouldn't even have the first clue in how to create
@OMDAIZY2 жыл бұрын
It says a race called Amengi enslaved the Hish, and a high named Kaail was the one to lead the revolt and free the enslaved hish. Yautja refer to Kaail as the first hunter from what you can find .. thats what the entire culture is now based on. But if they stole the amengis tech to free themselves, it's probably the same tech they're using to now travel and hunt.. and its probably a trauma based culture now where they hunt, so as to never feel inferior again
@RedBang142 жыл бұрын
@@OMDAIZY ok I was with you until the end with all that trauma talk. It sounds objective at best. But I’m glad someone I read the part about stolen tech. They seem intelligent but to engineer engines capable of traveling across the galaxy, they don’t seem that advanced.
@OMDAIZY2 жыл бұрын
@@RedBang14 yeah, I dont think they engineered the tech either. The trauma talk is only speculation, they were probably savage in their own right beforehand... I just feel like they were not quite a savage before the amengi, as they are now that they've had to adapt to overthrow them .. the info makes it sound like they were peaceful beforehand and now they have a culture dedicated (atleast the clans) to hunting and trophy collecting. That's kinda sinister lool
@robotnoir52992 жыл бұрын
@@OMDAIZY I hate this Amengi re-write of Predator history. It makes the Yautja seem like Batwoman... just wandering into Bruce's cave and stealing all his tech without earning it. The uniqueness of each Predator's armour used to be interesting, as it looked like they each constructed and customized their own weapons, like Jedi building their own light-sabers. Now we know that Predators just have a big pile of junk that they don't understand, and they randomly strap bits to themselves in the hope it has some useful purpose. Modern predators are basically hermit-crabs... hiding from the world in someone-else's shell. Anyway... that's why we don't talk about Predator intelligence. It's changed too much. The 1989 Predator was from a race of super-intelligent hunters who had mastered tehnology so advanced it was nearly magic to humans. The 2020 Predators are a bunch of ill-prepared twits with no self-created technology, who stumble drunkardly around the universe trying to catch the autism gene.

I'd crime for a well done, open-world, co-op Predator game where you play as a Hunter and have to travel to alien worlds and hunt various types of dangerous aliens to collect trophies and work your way up the ranks. Almost similar to Monster Hunter but spanning many worlds and involving Predators. And the co-op element could be to accomodate pred hunting parties for more dangerous prey or prey that are in larger numbers. Then you add a splash of customisation options for your pred, allow him/her to wear their trophies, and you got yourself a very good selling game. Of course add classes and what not for different play styles. Variety of ranged and melee weaponry, traps, lures, etc. Why no one has done this yet is beyond me lol.
