Well that's the thing about math--it's all just math! Doesn't take any more 'computational power' to multiply two tiny numbers together than it does other numbers. What I don't know how they handle is precision. Floating point numbers lose a lot of precision when representing very large or very small numbers and this creates errors.

How do you know where to zoom in in order to not zoom in an actual part of the mandelbrot set?

Well you just keep the zoom on the outer edge and you’ll end up in the chaotic region where everything is infinitely small lines pretty much
