thank you for making this video. When you remove the top pouch how does the 45L pouch compare with the 36L? Is it noticeably bigger? I'm torn between the two. I much prefer the darker colors of the 36L but it lacks the important top pocket/access to the camera from the top like on the 45L. I'm concerned about the flight issues too- especially on smaller propeller planes with tiny tiny overhead compartments or with budget airlines. I'm not too worried about them randomly checking my bag because it usually only happens with rolling suitcases.

To be honest they seem like they are exactly the same. There may be some slight differences. But in the difference of 36L and 45L measurements the 45L has more space in the pockets and front pouch and top pocket area like you mentioned. I would also say that if your 45L were to get flagged on a plane you could strip it down of the brain and frame if needed. The 36L I think also pushes the airplane size limits. In all honesty I would purchase the 45L over the 36L if you want a giant backpack. I'd also throw the 50L Rotation into the mix too. With the addition of the Stash Master you'd have a lot of carry space too. I'm doing some testing on the 50L Rotation and plan to put that out soon.

@@dragonphotostudio Thank you so much for the response. How about in terms of the camera space area and the configuration between the 36 and the 45, is the 45 deeper? Are there more compartments? I don't want anything too big since I'm a smaller guy and if the bag looks bigger than me they'll flag me for sure. Thank you for the clarifications. I've seen the 36 in person today and it fit me just so fine, but the store didn't have the 45 available and I was just wondering if it was too big and worth the extra price tag.

@@kyleledotnet They seemed almost identical to me in terms of camera carry. You can fit a dslr with a grip in both along with a ton of glass and whatever you need. The 45L was more versatile to me. Where as the 36 was just a camera bag and nothing else. The 45L is big though and it's bigger than the 36L for sure. Mainly taller. Personally I like the 45L better but that's me. I'm 6'1" 185lbs.

@@dragonphotostudio Thank you again. Also, is there a difference with the thickness of the bags and the straps? I heard that the 45 has better fabric?

@@kyleledotnet The straps are both well padded. I think since the 45L is taller it fit me a little better. The hip belt sat on my hips a bit better. I like the use of some ultralight fabrics on the Eliter45L. The 36L is nice but more of a typical photo backpack.

I agree. Its a great bag. I wish I had a purpose for it. I just fell in love with the Rotation bags so much. Im actually in the process of seeing if multiday backpacking trips are possible with the 50L version.
