Great video! I am a huge fan of Think Tank/Mindshift⁹ as I accumulated a ton of their products from backpacks, sling bags, Rollers, modular carry system, and accessory pouches over the past 10+ years. However, over the last 3 years I have transitioned to Shimoda Backpacks (Action X, Explore and Urban Explore) and rollers ( Carry-on and DV) that are extremely well made and offer greater flexibility in the amount of camera gear I carry utilizing the removable Inner Core Units (ICU) that are offered in various sizes and can be easily transferred to their rollers. For street photography or family vacations Think Tank/Mindshift is the way to go. However, for on location photography gigs that require light stand(s), tripod and other various accessories Shimoda has become my go to backpacks as the offer more external mounting options and larger side pockes.

Great channel and great video. Curious what turned you off to the Shimoda. I owned that bag and I just didn’t think it was right for me. Found your channel searching mindshift.

@Jessehermansonphotography Shimoda is the wife's favorite...not sure it would work for me due to sizing. I'm still using the Elite 45 and liking it well enough. Thanks for the comment!

Do you happen to know specifically what model the Shimoda bag is?

Mindshift makes some good bags. I have the Firstlight 30L. It opens from the front. I like the backlight version better. By the way what is your name?

@rdphoto2 I keep coming back to MindShift products. The wife seems to have settled on Shimoda. Both feel very similar over the shoulder and when interior is opened up, good build quality as well. Thanks, as usual, for the comment!

I recently was looking at the Mindshift Backlight 36L but my local dealer also carries Tenba bags and after liking the quality of them I ended up going with an Axis V2 32L. It's a little smaller than the 36L backlight but I I don't carry much non-photography gear when I'm out with my camera. 45L would be dangerous for me because then I'd be like "I should take both my 180-600 and 100-400." and end up with a bad back hehe.

@HellBatDC Actually looked at the Tenba bags (also on sale) and a small-ish one caught my eye for possible street photography. They looked like a good build anyway. I'm on my best behavior nowadays packing my camera bag- nothing I don't 'need'. Thanks for the comment!
