Imagine you are Crux. You found this one sector and built a giant stronghold using resources you may or may not have cheated in. You put down a billion defenses while thinking "This is overkill but why not?". Then a Sharded core appeared out of nowhere and you spammed T5 units at it to get it done quickly. Then that little core built like crazy and barely survived your spam before sending only a couple T5s at you. Then those few T5s maneuvered perfectly and took down your cores one by one.
