Hey Sjin. The tree you wanted to keep with the road next too it. Well japan has sacred Spirit trees. Why not use Sakura logs and leaves and decorations to turn it into a truly grand spirit tree with the build skills we all know you have.

Fun fact that I found out recently that you may not know, the samurai dynasty samurai armors,(netherite and one other set, just one of the samurai sets that I can't remember) can be dyed, so if you want you can technically make custom sets of samurai armor for your guards and yourself

@Mikael_Ore on the netherite set, besides the gold parts, there is a few pieces in the armor that don't change, though I think that those are supposed to be some form of leather or something.

What i noticed with this mod is that if you try to give a Guard samurai armor the game crashes

Early town hall is really useful, since your colonists hang out there until there is a tavern it protects them with walls preventing unfortunate events

Japan built homes with bamboo, paper and wood because they have a lot of earthquakes. So they needed something that can go up quickly. They also needed something that would not keep people in. Like a wall falling on them. However after world war 2 paper homes became obsolete. Because the nukes showed Japan how easy it was to destroy their homes. The shock wave alone destroyed so many homes. Because the roofs would collapse due to the weak nature of the walls. Now they have some of the best buildings on earth and they are almost earthquake proof. They also have this 30 year thing. They reuse home materials and rebuild homes every 30 years or so. From an engineering standpoint it's amazing what they do.

actually Sjin, deaths in the colony DO make your dudes sad. so yes, the mega torch actually does keep them safe AND happy.

Quick Tip: The entire tree (minecraft structure) needs to be within the selection bounds for the forester to recognize it and start chopping, otherwise they will just stand around like at the end of the video. :)

Watching the roads go down and thinking how beautiful it would be to have some bamboo growing in front of some of the buildings, just by the roadside. Sjin builds a nice road I would like to see bamboo I hope Sjin does too

i suggest that every time you end the episode, you fly and do an overlook of the whole colony to see the progress each episode! otherwise great series!

XyCraft isn't a new mod. It was first made for 1.4.7 if I'm not mistaken. Together with Buildcraft, Railcraft and IndustrialCraft it's one of the oldest mods for Minecraft. Developed by Soaryn. Though it has been many Minecraft versions since it was updated. The extractor itself is new but other blocks, such as the decoration blocks and multitank has been there since the start.

The last time I put a forester in an orchard I had to change some setting so he could reach the tops of the trees. Those apple trees are too tall for the default settings to clear. Even those small 1x1 lava holes are big enough for suicidal villages to hop into. I normally cover any lava pits within range of colonists. And near deserts I have to clear out the cactus before the colonists kill themselves on it. Colonists seem to love charging into lava or cacti... 👻

Sjin, the foresters hut has a second one built in when you level it up to around level three. You don't need to make a second hut! A lot of the buildings in this pack have similar things where it doubles as residence or another building :)

9:55 Looks like there is a xytech recipie for pointed dripstone, so once you collect some, making more would be easy 11:30 looks like you just found the bottom floor of a roguelike dungeon lol! easy redstone and soul sand (and diamond tier gear)

The forester is definitely fast enough if you have a good zone set up. It’s keeping up with 3 builders except I’m the bottleneck crafting for the builders.

There is a light and dark theme for roads. Light uses special bricks that look very cool. Could mix them a bit depending on district maybe. A little bit mystical agriculture helps a lot. Wood essence and nature essence at the very least for logs and bamboo will help in this style a lot. Later you need exotic logs and sooo much bamboo.

Japanese materials for house walls were bamboo and hemp stalks I think. Depends on how well it blended with wood as walls.

The iron rods he's using for silent gear give the tools a magnetic property to help pick up nearby items (as long as you aren't crouching)

So is this dwarf fortress for minecraft? I always thought it was crazy how perfect minecraft would be for a dwarf fortress mod. I do this on vanilla kind of buy manually building villagers but they dont do much other than farmers giving food to make them breed. Thats the most interaction ive seen.

idk if this will be helpful but i used jets and eli's armors since i use epic fight in my minecolonies playthrough, but that armor mod has some of the best samurai/ninja armor models ive seen and i think they might be a cool touch on your colony guards

Mine Conley it has different types of conlonies and it has history behind the building that you built and the different times of history.

In my country it’s built out of reinforced steel and concrete because of frequent earthquakes that we have every couple of years.
