Minecraft 1.21 / Minecraft 1.20 Redstone Simple 3x3 Piston Door Tutorial

Tested in Minecraft 1.19 Java edtion - Still working. So instead of doing a Minecraft 1.19 3x3 Piston door video, i've just relabled this one :)
This is my favourite Minecraft 3x3 Piston Door design. I really like this door design so I tested it out for Minecraft 1.18 and Minecraft 1.19.
I really love Piston doors so much! This is one of my favourite designs. I am going to show you another 3x3 piston door design soon as well.
This is the simplest 3x3 Piston Door tutorial, creating a compact 3x3 piston door.
The original design was by @ThatMumboJumbo , tested for Minecraft 1.18 and my follow up video adds more functionality.
Edit: I have been told the original design was by jeffrey zhu. My apologies for saying it was Mr Jumbo. Credit where it is due!
The idea behind this redstone series is to make redstone accesible to as many people as possible. This 3x3 piston door may be a bit more of a challenge than my usual redstone, but it is still very possible for an amateur redstoner.

Looked at 2 other videos for a 3x3 door, both were too complex to work on servers with latency, and also were more than 1 block wide. This was so easy to set up and so compact, will never make a 3x3 a different way again. 10/10

I am just working on an upgrade for this door. If you are wanting to put the lever somewhere else run a repeater into the side of the block the lever is on in the design and then run a signal to that from your lever.

Your design doesn't work in 1.19.3. The door will not fill the upper middle block of the door because the lower middle piston will pull in the block again. Pls help

You earned a subscriber dude ! Of all the piston doors including mumbojumbo , this one suits me the best . It's just one block wide and very , very compact . You are a lifesaver honestly because after trying out like 6 other designs , yours was going to be the last one before I quit . As for the lever position , I used the extremely neat Zig Zag Glass trick which transmits redstone vertically . It's extremely useful ! I now have 3x3 piston door with absolutely nothing showing but only the 2 levers on either side . Like let's say the block where the original lever is present is Block A . A needs to be powered no matter what . So you place a glass block next to A . Then another towards the right corner . Then the next one comes directly under the first glass block and co-ncidently right next to the dropper , powering the redstone on it as well . A G G D G G G Like this : G is Glass , A is the block where lever originally is , D is dropper

for some reason when i create the door the bottom left or bottom middle block are never in the correct place. am i missing something? (might be the repeaters, i can only count 3 ticks total, not 4?)

Hi! So repeaters start on 1 tick (The delay between the input and output) and you can move them to 2, 3 or 4 ticks. So the last setting on a repeater is 4 ticks. Does that help?

Sure hope you can help on this. Only the top pistons move. Yet, the top sticky piston does not pull the second one back up.

Thats weird, are you on Java edition? I would watch the video again and go through every step, it may be you got a repeater on the wrong tick

@@Sassyfish i did it by having no lever and making a pressure plate activate some redstone that leads to the exact same place and you can do this on both sides. i have one problem. this is the second time ive build this door and it worked the first time, but now the bottom middle piston is only extending once and it doesnt work properly. can you help please?
