Minecraft 1.20 Speedrun World Record

1.20 has only been out for a couple days so it's obviously silly and someone could still beat it but this is a pretty good time for the version, it's the 2nd fastest 1.18+ run ever though which is good for an unofficial 1.5 year old category
in case you're confused, this is not the actual minecraft world record, that is still a 7:45 in 1.16.1, this is just the fastest 1.20 run (so far)
java edition not bedrock edition
1.18+ is super slow since a lot of lava sources are removed meaning less good nethers per hour. brutes lose you a bit of time but mostly just because they replace normal piglins so your trading is slower than usual. a broken pie chart + nether fog means playing nethers is a lot more difficult too. also of course getting 1/4th of the normal amount of pearls can lose a lot of time and make you reset a lot more runs. otherwise it's not too bad
fun but very grindy version definitely worth trying

You lower your render distance in the fortress to increase the likelihood of blaze spawns, mobs need to spawn somewhere and they cant spawn outside of render distance. The sensitivity being lowered is just for seeing the angle the eye of ender is pointing to, you have to aim at a specific pixel.

​@MisaelJefte he throws 2 eyes from different positions facing different directions, from that info you can do basic math calculation to do the triangulation of the location even without any software, even by hand you could do it pretty fast in a couple seconds.

ive only beaten minecraft once i did everything very very slowly up until the End (the dimension) i didnt die then i died to the dragon 10 times coz i didnt know how the perching patterns worked and also i had netherite leggings, diamond chestplate and iron armor for the rest i took 6 hours T-T when will i get better man i dont even have time to play wait what this videos only been out for 16 minutes

Tbh perching patterns don’t matter in casual play at all, you just shoot the end crystals down and just fire arrows at it and hit it when it seemingly randomly comes down

It's his own dodgy boomerang method but the only working one I'm pretty sure. Entities don't despawn when you lower render distance in 1.20, but they still show up on the piray if up raise it up from the lowest number when you spawn in. So If you enter the nether with lowest render distance you have only one shot to locate the fortress with that L-shape method, and u slowly raise up render till u find it. But you need to get lucky that the mob spawner spikes during L-shape movement otherwise it's not accurate. This is how I understood it from watching him do it and trying it a couple times myself, but I could be wrong on some details. Hope this helps.

@@BluePi3142 Like I said, especially in 1.20 and other newer versions, even on hard difficulty it's much faster to find iron and smelt it than to leave it up to RNG and sit there for 4 minutes waiting for the portal to light up, in the case of this run he got demolished by luck in that first cave and that ended up wasting like 50 seconds. Besides there was nothing that could take 4 minutes to do to really overlap things considering that the golem kill and gathering tools and food only takes 40 seconds tops.

Generation is arguably worst, piglin trades are objectively worst, f3+f is disabled, piglin brutes and gamma 5 which is possible in 1.16 by editing options.txt and allowed for speed runs is impossible without modding the game code
