Hey guys today were building a simple automatic egg farm in Minecraft. This is great for playing in survival mode and harvesting eggs with little effort! Happy Building!

Usually I hate watching tutorials for minecraft. You have such a crisp clear voice, no mumbling and I don't have to pause the video every second to make sure I have enough space, correct items, etc. You deserve more subscribers.

I made this chicken coup about a year ago and I have to say out of all the ones I have followed its the best one yet at least for me, I keep coming back to it . It does take a bit of work and time as anything that's worth it should. Thanks again Greg for sharing this build with all of us.

this is one of the first minecraft tutorials i *actually* like !! typically, minecraft tutotial makers are overly energetic (i mean they are targeted to a younger age range!!) but you seem so down to earth and chill !! plus you listed all the materials and added so many extra tips to the tutorial

Excellent tutorial! I don't know why I've never thought of this... I always just do a 3x fence, leaving only one block in the middle. You can run on both sides and pick up eggs, but I love the look of the chicken coop.

Dude first video of yours, and I'm already a fan. This was super helpful, just built a cute little coop in my first new survival world because I haven't played since 1.8 Currently trying to lean twords a pumpkin farm to make pumpkin pies rather than bread, so of course I needed an automatic egg farm. This has done just the trick! Started with three chickens and after having the coop for more than maybe 10 minutes I'm already to seven.

Greg, thanks for this tutorial. I watched, then went out and built it. Man was it a pain to get the chickens to stay in, while I tried to leave. (Playing on PC laptop) I got two chickens in, then tried to throw in seven eggs. The gates kept opening and closing... So then I locked myself inside, threw the 7 eggs, 3 hatched. Now I have 5 chickens, I can't leave, the darn birds follow me out before I can get gate closed. I'm playing in survival, but I have minimal tools with, so I decided to stop eating and exercise till expiration. Once the food bar was down, the hearts started going away. But holy buckets, I could not get rid of my last 1/2 a heart. Finally I had had it, I jump out, close gate, and eat that one chicken that couldn"t stay in the coop...

Then I discovered, because I didn't place my hopper in the right position, that my eggs weren't in chest. I dig out blocks to get underneath, place the hopper under the others and into back of chest. Then all the eggs show up, blocks and stairs I dropped, etc. Mine is a block, or two taller than yours, made out of Birchwood and I have some glass in tippy top. It's so tall, it reminds me of a corn crib. But it works. There's so many caves in this winding river seed that I may make one underground, then terraform. This was my first hopper build. ;)
