There was a really secret base which needs a specific block with a specific name to open a piston door. You just drop the item on whatever block on the ground you choose and it can open a piston door, then you can use tripwire to then close the piston door. That is a very good secret base if you need it.

You can just make a piston door that opens when you drop a random item on the right block. I think that’s the best way cuz it takes like 1 second to open, it’s easy to make, and there’s no way someone is just going to drop an item randomly in the middle of nowhere. Cool video tho 😀

I had a concept a long time time ago for a double hidden base, activated by a button, which the pressure plate one reminded me of and I think it can be expanded to a triple or even more. There are three different ways of activating a wooden button: Right clicking it, hitting it with an arrow, or hitting it with a trident. Once activated, it will remain powered for 1.5 seconds, until the arrow or trident despawns or is picked up. So by making a system of pulse length detectors, you can have the same button open one door if you press it, another if you shoot it, wait a few seconds, and then pick up the arrow or trident, and a third door if you shoot it and then wait one minute for the arrow to despawn. But the real secret is the fourth option: Throw a Loyalty trident at the button and immediately go through a portal. A Loyalty trident does not despawn or return while its owner is in another dimension, so if you can keep the chunk loaded, it can be used to keep the button pressed for more than a minute, with a final pulse length detector to open only in that event. (I guess a poor man could also sustain the input for over a minute by shooting the button with two arrows.)
