EDIT: this is for Java edition lol For people (like me) who found this broken in 1.16.3...here is the fix The repeaters placed at 5:20 and 6:10 need to be set to 4 ticks Facing the build as he is at 9:00, look at the two torches on the very bottom towards the middle (the ones on the normal pistons). Place two blocks in front of them, then go break the torches and place them on the newly placed blocks. This makes it so that the torches still power the block above them like they did before. Now for the left side (still facing like he did at 9:00), place a block one diagonal to the bottom left corner of the block the torch is now on, and then another block to the left of that. Place a redstone dust on each block (NOT THE ONE THE TORCH IS ON) and that dust should both lead into the block the torch is on and connect to the circuit on the bottom. Repeat for the other side too. Now once you activate the whole build it from here, the bottom side should work perfectly, but the top side won't retract all the way. Flipping the repeaters placed at 7:18 and 8:58 to two ticks should both reset it to normal and prevent any future issues. Hope i helped!

remove the comparator and the redstone block so the redstone block cannot power the 4th piston before the torch deactivates, giving more time for the piston to retract the remaining honey blocks

Namely that the bottom pistons with the Redstone torches do not alternate their powering when the lever is pulled, so the bottom 2x2s are not pushed out fully. I have no idea what the relationship issue between them is, so do you have any insight? What is the reason we are using the pistons at the base of the build?

So I have been trying to move the switch and place pressure plates on the inside but I can't seem to get it figured out. I played around with it so much I broke the build and had to rebuild it. Any help to move/add these features would be awesome! Also I tried the T Flip Flop you added at the end and it closed the door but won't reopen it.

How would one go about moving the switch to a different area? It's my favorite 4x4 piston door I can find, but the switch is in and inconvenient area to put it on a house. Also, would it be possible to close the door from the inside? I'm new to building with redstone, and don't completely understand the nuances of it yet.

if you use blocks and dust you can just guide the redstone to where you would like the lever. It also works through blocks so if you wanted to connect the redstone outside of the wall the lever is in it would work too. Sometimes you can make the lever appear on both sides, as long as you have enough material. Hope this helped.
