This is great. Never thought of water logging the pistons. Fixes the issues I've had with stone generators on bedrock due to the randomness of lava flow. That's why the lava flowed down on yours.

this works absolutely ridiculously well !! even without any efficiency enchantment, you can collect a ridiculous amount in short time

This a great design! Thank you so much! Built this before 1.16 and didn't experience the flaw Rogue Fox points out in the video, but when I updated to one 1.16 I started to see the flaw. To remedy this I changed two things: 1) set the first repeater on a two tick delay and 2) used 5 lava sources blocks instead of just one! Hope this helps! *posted this comment on 7/11/20*

Damn I remember the days of old when someone used a locked repeater in their old smoothstone gen. Glad to see it still work ! Thanks for this design I modified it and made it fit in a smaller width wise but taller in my design ! Although I noticed, thanks to the use of pistons these stone gens should never truly break like they used to !

I haven’t been able to get an efficiencyV pick yet, so I build a four piston one... it still works great! Turns out out you can even use it with efficiencyIII and still make plenty of stone or cobblestone. I was able to make a massive mob farm because of this. Thanks! Keep it up man! your videos are awesome and there aren’t very many bedrock specific tutorials out there.

8 months old and still working beautifully. Personally I make this only 4 wide to use with my efficiency IV picks and still works great.

As of 1.16 Nether Update, this generator works perfectly. Tip: If you are using a Efficiency V, Haste II Beacon, instead of using any stair, use any wood plank stair so it doesn't break the stair at the chest.

Works well. The only issue is that after 5-10 row of stone it’ll stop generating stone and the lava will just go in the place where the flowing water should be. (The lava just pours down.) I’m thinking it’s a lag issue, but if it’s not I would really appreciate a fix!

So, if I don't put the obsidian on the side, and I point the generator towards an island off to the side of my base, I could theoretically auto-build a stone bridge to the island?

You could...if the island isn’t too far away. A piston will max out at 12 blocks before it can’t push anymore

Still works perfectly in Bedrock (Windows 10) edition! Even with an unenchanted iron pickaxe, the system doesn't malfunction. I've built it for growth ;-) - can't wait to get my eff V pickaxe sorted.

Lmao 2 yrs later and I had to track down this one again still working and still the favorite btw add a second observer at end and link into pistons ... Will reset the tube for slow mining tools wood stone iron. Pickaxe doesnt matter

This doesn't work, it breaks right away and creates cobblestone in the spot the water is supposed to fall into, then lava runs out into the spot you are standing.

You can use the magic of a rubber band to hold down the trigger once it's going. it would work until the chest and hoppers fill up at least. You could always extend it by adding more chests under the first one with hoppers going down to fill the other chests.
