While often someone who dislikes the mentality of, “Old Minecraft was good Minecraft any everything new is bad and boring, and Minecraft is not a good game anymore.” Minigames are among the things that I really hope returns in some form, because it genuinely makes me sad to think of how much cooler some maps could be in modern Minecraft, with all of the new things added to Minecraft since minigames were ended, there are so many possibilities for new things, and it would be really cool if we were able to see something like that brought to modern Minecraft.

I loved going under the map in the minigame lobby with Elytra. It was so good and shooting arrows at targets

@@ReboTheVaporeon In Console Edition minigame lobby, iirc you could get the Elytra by going into the buildings behind the water fountain (opposite to fishing and bows). From Memory: Then, you should be able to find Elytra inside the house near the balcony on upper floors. Then you can jump out onto the water fountain again. By the water fountain is a hole which you can try and fly/lag through with Elytra.

Again, I haven't played it for about 3 - 5 years on a regular basis but below is the old minigame lobby before it changed to the main one and was then discontinued. From a KZbin video: Apparently, you can also enter the map below by shutting off the water on the water fountain by entering the house, locating a water bucket in an item frame and going through the door near the stairs where you entered and pressing a pressure plate. Then, there is a lever you can flick by the water fountain and fall down. Honestly, I never used this method on KZbin because I didn't know about it/need to use it but I found it on MAG Plays channel from about 6 years ago titled "TU51 New Mini-Game Lobby Secrets!"

Pretty sure 4j were also allowed to add what they wanted, not sure though but since when 4j started developing Mojang was still owned by Notch, they gave 4j alot of freedom whatbto add when or what can be added.

I love legacy console, and still play it to this day. The mini games, the tutorial worlds, the varied world sizes in later versions. Heck, even the freaking gamma slider, it just feels like Minecraft to me. I’ve been playing Java much longer, but I still think 4j’s versions are the best Minecraft has been, even when the updates have stopped. The memories I made on these versions will never fade (especially since most work on emus now).

I still play minecraft on my Ps3, and to a lesser extent my vita, the glide minigame is one of my favourite things to do, and sometimes I just forget how much I love what 4J did to the game, putting in more love than they ever needed to with tutorial and dlc worlds, the minigames, all the skins you could buy and the community engagement they took part in, whatever 4J's new game is, it's gonna be fantastic.

Battle tumble and glide, the REAL minigames. I remember not being able to play them online so i played them with my brother. i loved battle and tumble. I hated glide though (probably because i never won). Now it is gone. It is all gone. A place where i made a childhood worth of memories with my brother, a place that my little sister will never experience. Idgaf about lifeboat. Hive is good but not good enough. Im going to make videos supporting the minigames getting back, although the chances are low. I just want the minigames back. I hope that some ppl will do the same, feel the same. Update: Since my 59.951 I beat my time and optimised it to 57.900 Whats crazy is that 1st place is 56.900, 2nd is 56.951 3rd is 57.900 and 4th is 58.748. 5th all the way to 9th are all higher 58s and 10-23 are all 59s. The disparity between the top 4 is crazy. Unfortunately, 56.951 has no video proof and is unverified. Neither is my 57.900 but I did record a 57.951 which means i only really cut off like a frame anyway.

All the console edition minigames (Battle, Tumble, and Glide) I would rather play than any modern minigames on Hypixel or any other server. They are simply just better. I do have to admit that nostalgia plays a part in my bias but still they are so much better with tumble and glides physics being interesting. If they were updated slightly and included in modern Minecraft I would be ecstatic.

While glide was the best, what if we brought back the other minigames. Battle mode was a quick hunger games battle royal that only used the hotbar, and I think bringing back the li.ited space would be cool. Also, the fact of how there was, like 3 versions of the same map, is absolutely insane and a really smart idea. The other minigame, spleef, could be easily replicated, but the sheer amount of creativity was so fun. If you had a private server there were so many factors you could change. Other thing: the lobby. The lobby for all the minigames was the same, but it was so full. The changed it at some point but just placed it overtop the old one, so if you won a round, you could do a hard elytra maneuver (you get the elytra from winning) and open up the ground to reveal a broken down version of the old map. There were so many different secrets and stuff I probably only ever found 10% in my time, and I played a ton. Also, another fun thing about the console editions themselves was that you got access to a ton of free resource packs. Christmas one, Halloween ones, simple textures, steam punk textures, there was even a halo one, but I think that's Xbox exclusive. They each even came with a special map! All in all, console editions were so fun, if they brought them back, (Maybe they would be linked to your Microsoft account so you didn't have ro pay for multiple) I would be so happy. I guess I probably could still play it if I wanted, though, so that's cool.

With the 360 explanation, you're kinda right in the sense it does keep your boost speed momentum, but the acceleration rate stays the same iirc, so its just to ensure you dont reach that specific boost's top speed (as different boosts have different spees caps) and therefore preventing the character from reaching that allows you to release a boost in a better place (kinda lol) and there is some other specifics with this but yea lol

I remember glide. So nostalgic. I actually like Battle more than pretty much every modern Minecraft PvP game that we have. I think I like Glide the best, though. I remember that every time I got first I was so happy. Especially on that one map where you start outside in a valley with a river running through it, and there’s this one speed boost you always have to hit in one of the natural stone pillars. Don’t forget the lobby, too. I would spend forever in there, hoping no one would join so I would be able to find all the secrets. I wonder if I joined right now if I would remember the very long puzzle to get to the old Lobby under the map. Wasn’t it like, turn the water bucket upside down on the second floor, go to one of the basements, flick the lever down there, go to the fountain, find the other hidden lever there and flick it as well, then the floor of the fountain would open up and you would be able to ride a waterfall into the fountain of the abandoned lobby.

For custom maps, as a person who actually helped to convert them to Glide format (which means actually add boosts, checkpoints, thermals etc.) it is kinda tedious, but really fun once finished. The minigames were incredibly fun Glide really was the best, just learning a fast route and flying through those tunnels, that's what made me fall in love with the elytra. And you can't forget the music that was attached to these. I still believe that the music made for the minigames and the mashup packs are the best parts of the minecraft soundtrack.

Minecraft LCE is what I have played for nearly a decade now. It's the first time I really played Minecraft (yes, I played Pocket edition before, but whatever). I've loved playing it, and it holds up amazingly! If you can, please check out some Glide runs and join the community if you can as well! I would love to see more people in the community, as it is currently very small, but we'd love for more people to come! (I don't post runs on YT, no capture card, but I want to at some point)

People talk about them making Minecraft run better on consoles than Mojang do with bedrock, but the seem to forget 4J only had consoles with certain requirements to deal with. Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, PSVita all had the same needs. It was the same with the Xbox one, PS4 and Nintendo switch which all had the same requirements. Bedrock is being made for windows 10, MacOS, apple, android, PS4/5, Xbox one/series X (all these consoles have different sub versions) and Nintendo switch which all have different requirements, especially for apple/android which have multiple devices with their own needs, even 4J would have trouble with all of them. In my opinion they should become harsh and just forget all the lower end devices entirely and just focus on the consoles, windows 10, MacOS and any apple/android device released after 2019.
