This may sound odd, but thank you for not talking. Not having to hear “HeY gUyS WeLcOmE tO mY nEw vIdEo pLeAsE SmAsH tHaT LiKe....” was such a relief. Subbed Edit: just came across this video after 2 years and realized I was the top comment, which has never happened before for me so hey that’s cool. Also to clarify this was absolutely not an insult, I’ve been a regular viewer of shulkercraft ever since I found this video and really enjoy all their content. I think when I wrote this I had watched several other tutorial videos by other channels who were super over the top and annoying and wouldn’t start the tutorial for the first 5 minutes of the video to pad out runtime or beg for subs and likes. So when I found a really good, concise, and chilled out tutorial it was a legitimate relief (and yeah I’m an introvert if you hadn’t figured that out lol). Not sure what I’m doing wrong, but I can only use it for a few seconds before lava beats the water to the space above the hoppers. I put slabs on the source blocks so that they wouldn’t turn to cobble, but that doesn’t change the fact that I have to reset the generator after getting like 7 cobblestone.

Found a different tutorial that works, if anybody is curious it works via the following; Have a row of pistons with a clock to power them, water log the pistons, place lava above the adjacent block row (this is where the lava will meet the flowing water from the waterlogged pistons) and leave a block gap between the lava layer and a row of obsidian (to stop the pistons from pushing stone). This works well because the pistons cancel the lava so that water can make stone instead.

This farm has one flaw that many of the stone/cobble mined flow up because of the water and get destroyed from the lava. I tested it many times and can say that about 50-60% is destroyed.

Little tip for anyone if this were to happen by chance: if the pickaxe is too overpowered and goes right through the wall of the generator, replace the wall with wood, or something else that will take a longer time for the pickaxe to break. And just long enough for the stone to generate and stop the wall from being broken

Put a row of stone (or other rock-time block) over the top of your source blocks on the left and right sides. The lava won't be able to get to your water source.

​@@skankbruh6942 Had the same problem. In this construction of cobblestone farm, you have 4 open slots that are supposed to be filled with water and lava that will turn in cobblestone once mixed. After this you got to dig all of the 4 slots of cobblestone, then wait a bit until all of them slots get filled with water and lava creating cobblestone again, and digging only and once again ONLY after. Got no idea how it works, but it does.

I can confirm both farms work well on Java edition 1.15.2

Can be modified easily for bedrock edition using hopper clock/redstone block pusher underground instead of repeaters. Then have the red stone energize one of the above ground (sticky) pistons at a time. This also can avoid any possibility of dual activation. Also need above ground (sticky)pistons to be an extra space apart on both sides and have attacked solid block to move the player instead of being directly pushed by the piston head itself.

I should add that after testing it for a while. The circuit gets stucked and you need to remove the Redstone and push the button again for it to work. Maybe try Mars approach.

Good stone generators are so much harder to make than cobblestone generators, so it's nice to see a tutorial on this. The only thing I probably would have added was the difference between a cobblestone generator and a stone generator. Why do you get less with a diamond pickaxe?

instead of the 2 levers on the piston you can place a solid block above the 2nd redstone dust placed at 4:13 with a button ontop of that and then place another solid block in place of the 3rd redstone dust placed at 4:14 and a sticky piston that pulls it away from the repeater clock that is activated by a lever you can then turn the entire thing on and off with the lever and then give the clock a pulse with the button

If you want to fix it put the water on 2 blocks long flowing if that is what your already doing try breaking the cobblestone and it will eventually turn back to stone

you should make a part 2 making a system that drops a new pickaxe to you when the one you are using to mine breaks, maybe like fill up your inventory with some random items and leave an ejector right beside you and a minecart collection system under you so if your pickaxe hasn't broke yet, the minecart will just get it back to the ejector and if it breaks you will have space in your inventory to get the pickaxe that the ejector dropped. just a suggestion, anyways. hope you see my comment ;)

This thing makes a lot of stone. Like a LOT of stone. A tip for anyone who wants to AFK in this thing, you can hold down lmb, press F3 + T and release lmb when the loading screen comes up. Your character will remain mining. You can also press F3 + P beforehand to disable automatic pause, so you can minimize the game and continue mining. I don't recommend AFKing for too long though, in 15 mins your Unbreaking 3 Netherite pick will be gone

@@ravenclanleader2611I had the same idsue when I was designing my generator, but since we can waterlog stairs and slabs, I put water in those blocks. So instead of having solid water that can get turned to stone by accident, use things like slabs, stairs, even trapdoors filled with water. For this design, after putting in water, place stairs in those water blocks on the sides. At that point you don't even need the trapdoors anymore, but I also noticed that efficiency 5 pickaxes with haste 2 are too fast for this..

Also, my lava is off put to the side, so that when I break an entire line of stone, an observer at the end powers pistons that push stone from the generator into the "mining zone" (where the hoppers are)

i noticed that if you have efficiency 5, the first design doesn't work, so what i did was to change the clock speed in design 2 so that its not as fast as intended, but still is efficient
