My first day involved like 15 consecutive deaths while I tried to figure out the controls to the game and how to craft objects. Monsters were terrifying. I couldn't figure out how to get underground or make a shelter. I didn't know the recipe for anything. I had to guess at everything. Zombies were killing me. Skeletons were turning me into pin cushions. Creepers were appearing behind me and blowing up. I was always lost in a wood. I kept starving. I was thinking, "This is a kid's game? This has a steeper learning curve than any game I've ever played."

This video is the epitome of everything I've tried to achieve in Minecraft, and I come back to it at least once a year. The very first time I watched it, I was spellbound by that idea of pure possibility. Looking out on a blank canvas of a world and knowing you'll not only leave your mark on it, but transform it into something beautiful. Make it your own, leave no block untouched. Since I watched it, I've always tried to achieve a real base like this. Definitely not as grandiose, but something full and complete made by my hand. Even how people think that Minecraft is actually dead, I understand them, really, but the way I look at Minecraft, I should be glad that it's not dead, removed, nor the devs going bankrupt -- yet they still give joy to the game. I know some people hate the game because each and every update makes them think that it's not Minecraft. We should always know that in order to make the game alive, we must evolve it through updates... But if that's what really you guys think. Minecraft is one of my favorite games during my childhood era, I'd never forget one single moment with it. Even with each update, each mistake that the devs did, I would never stop playing the game, and that I would always look up at the devs at Microsoft and that they would never give up giving joy and happiness to the players.
