IMPORTANT! Just to clarify, this method only applies to Minecraft Java Edition. The direction plays a crucial role in its functionality. When the structure faces south or east, it is necessary to shear the left string instead of the right. Conversely, when the structure faces north or west, you must shear the right string instead of the left. Failure to do so will result in the glitch not working.

Hello to everyone here and who are wondering why it doesn't work. Especially on my server which runs in paper on multiplayer, please do check in your folder, go to config>global then scroll down until you see "allow-tripwire-disarming-exploits" set it to "true". Hope this might helps out especially on paper servers. Happy Duping everyone! Also no need to use shears after the first part of activating this machine. Just pull the lever to start it.

It works in 1.20.4 but you have to build it in west direction and shear the right string if you do not shear the right string it dosen't work and build it in the west direction only.(I made it in mobile phone).

It's a bug. Instead make a cave spider farm. It'll also give you Spider eyes (why do you need that)

it needs to be build EXACTLY like in the video! so make sure: 1. the glass side is south 2. face north and place the block above the right (east) trap door and the lever above the left (west) trap door 3. cut only the left string with scissors (you should see the hooks move for a moment and then end in position again) 4. flip the lever after i made sure this was done properly it worked like a charm!
