I honestly reckon account migration and flooding the game with capes is Mojang trying to combat account reselling. They make money only when a new account is purchased and notoriously have been against things like Optifine, because they can't get any money from OF Cape donations. They can't get any money from people selling Minecon Cape accounts and hope people think "a cape is a cape lol" and will settle for the vanilla ones. Just my take.

I have the Migration cape & I think I might get the Vanilla cape too. As someone who plays singleplayer mostly, I think it’s a nice addition to my skin & makes my overall gameplay experience a little better. The only people who seem opposed to these new capes are those who’ve acquired a minecon cape account.

I personally don’t like the idea, mainly because of people (like myself) who started on bedrock, old pocket edition, and consoles who have since moved to java. I understand the reason why some older java players would like these capes, but it could leave other ogs out just because they didn’t play java first.

I love the idea of the cape but the design itself looks unfinished. I see the 3D grass block at the top and that looks good for the most part but what's going on in the bottom? What's that texture is that supposed to be? I want to say Bedrock because of it's theme (Java being grass block and Bedrock being bedrock) but it looks more like deepslate to me, and even that texture doesn't look like it. The dark triangle at the bottom confuses me, is it supposed to be shading or part of the design? What is it trying to portray here? The random gray pixels look weird, I know its part of the grass block texture but it looks too intrusive. What's with the shading bellow the grass block? Is it supposed to be the shadow of the grass block if so why isn't it in a triangle shape too? And it might just be because of compression but It looks really messy overall. Am I just missing something here? Is it like an optical illusion that I'm not seeing? I love the idea of Mojang giving away more capes, but this definitely looks like a placeholder texture, it doesn't look up to par with the other cape textures at all.

1:47 I just want to make a correction, bedrock edition does have a special cape which is the Minecraft Live 2019 cape. It is tied to the Microsoft account of the user, rather than their name like in java edition. It does not surprise me that Mojang would want to add more.

What I think the cape is supposed to look like is at the top, grass blocks to represent Java Edition (shown in the minecraft launcher) and the bottom, well, bedrock to represent Bedrock Edition. Pretty neat.

Capes are a fun cosmetic to see in your 3rd person view. The extra detail just makes your own and other's skins pop out with the movement physics. Rare capes will still be rare, but everyone gets some extra cosmetic choice. Marc said something similar ages ago and I agree with him.

i think the veteran xbox 360 and one edition players who got the game before the discontinuation should get there own capes on their Microsoft account that they can use on Java and Bedrock. Cuz I and many others started Minecraft there.

I would love this cape for a couple reasons. I play both Java and bedrock consistently and I never got the migration cape because I bought Java after Microsoft accounts were a thing so this would be my first cape. And also I like to keep the visual aspects of Java and bedrock mostly the same without making one version look exactly like the other, for example I have the same resource packs on each version, same fov, same render distance, same skin, ect. It's annoyed me that I had to have the pancape on one version and optifine cape on the other, this new cape would fix that problem too.

I have seen really og usernames and 2 letter usernames in game more often than people with any other capes than migration cape, which of there still should be multiple times more of. 1 time a realms cape and one time some minecon cape vs 3 instances of 2 letters and many times common english words

I think capes for more general things like supporting the game before X happened are good things, unlike the migration cape this one required you to go out of your way to support Mojang TWICE on the same account by buying both bedrock and java before they got merged as purchases, also hopefully purchases on mobile devices and through codes found in store are eligible for the cape, so I can actually get it as I bought java normally on PC.

I bought bedrock on the Microsoft store long before I got Java off the Minecraft website and made a mojang account (also merged my mojang to the Microsoft account I bought Minecraft bedrock on) so I believe I may be eligible also I should bring up you didn’t correctly guess the blocks shown on the cape it’s grass (representing java) and bedrock (representing bedrock) it’s meant to represent both versions of Minecraft with the blocks people use to represent the versions because most use the grass block design to be a icon for Java edition And bedrock block for well bedrock edition I personally love at mojang is showing their gratitude to the community that gave them success through making a cape for early on minecrafters who played both versions it just shows at mojang is still a company at knows they wouldn’t be where they are without the purchases and support from the most dedicated fans and players but that’s just my opinion and everyone has their own I hope everyone who didn’t get bedrock and Java separate get a chance to get acknowledged by mojang like this

I kinda cheated to get the cape, I didn't own bedrock on PC but I owned Java, I did a trick with .dll files to pirate bedrock and I got achievements in it and the website thought I owned it. Then when the cape was given out, I got it

The thing is I have pocket edition and Java. Two are connected currently, but I don't remember the last time I even used my current account with it. I started playing Minecraft in 2012 on my PS3, I then switched to playing on my Nintendo Switch when it released, I then started playing on Xbox One in 2021 but I don't own the game I still use gamepass cause the code they gave me with my Xbox One S is glitched or something, So even though I could be a veteran I probably won't get the Cape due to switching platforms and Microsoft giving me a bugged download code
