Minecraft is not an rpg or an mmo, it’s a sandbox, survival isn’t even its main game mode. It’s a game about building not about slaying monsters and getting the best loot.

Yeah, when I started my 1 year survival world I didn't want to get max gear as soon as possible, nor do I want to build a trading hall, I just want to have fun... Even after beating the ender dragon, I still find fun in exploration and building.

Ive been playing for almost 10 years. Ive never stopped since i first played in 4th grade. Im nearing 20. If anything for me, it got more overwhelming because of how much has been added. But even then there are so many work arounds. When i do feel bored? That just means its time for a switch up. Play mods or play a new version of minecraft. Sometimes it does mean play a different game for 3 days and return to what i know and love best, minecraft. I genuinly dont think ill ever be bored of minecraft.

Stop trying to turn minecraft into an RPG, Stop trying to turn minecraft into Terraria, It's Minecraft. The point is that there is no point. The fact that you don't really have to beat the ender dragon or the wither is what makes it Minecraft. They don't even officially release the Lore of the game because they want the player to come up with their own lore. The game is about making your own game. There's no direction you have to go in and there's no Purpose you have to fulfill. That's what makes it what it is.

The question of how we decide is we really go with the flow. I think it helped for us to create an interesting development. For instance we created like different kingdoms and wars, as well as fun events etc. If you don’t feel like doing that there are still other ways to get ideas flowing in your head. One day you could say I want to start this build, or go adventuring, or try to find this certain item etc. For me it doesn’t feel meaningless due to these factors, I hoped that helped a little.

This made me tear up, i remember I never beat the ender dragon or the either or the warden in survival because I was scared. After I did that, what was left? I beat the game, what more could I do? So I mostly watched my favorite KZbinrs play Minecraft, have these amazing ideas for builds or for gameplay, and they could still play in the same world. The game was never supposed to be completed. That’s why Minecraft is one of my favorite games, you can go at your own pace, the game isn’t completed until you say it’s finished.

I played Minecraft as A kid my creativity was wild! I built house's, and A ship, and I found A village. But over the years I lost creativity. But I'm starting to play Minecraft again and its fun just like how fun it was about 5 or 4 years ago (Maybe 6) but Minecraft was like my first game I played, and I'm glad that I played Minecraft as A kid :). Oh and 3 more things, 1: I was inspired by different Minecraft videos or movies. I built A boat because I was inspired from the movie Titanic! 2: I get most of my creativity from videos or my friends. 3: I felt like Minecraft made A mistake on changing the ore textures and doing A lot more stuff, but at least the new update (1.21) has different dog breeds!! PS, This is A long comment, and finnaly, I think are creativity is from something that inspired us. single player survival has never been fun to PLAY for me, but I've always enjoyed watching others play it. For myself, there's just something so boring, so *lonely* about having a whole minecraft world to yourself, with nobody to share any of it with. When I play minecraft, I either build in creative superflats, play survival mutliplayer with friends, or join minigame servers. And I take breaks too: sometimes I don't touch the game for months bc I get burnt out, but when I come back I'm always happy to be back. I think people are calling it boring because the play style they're trying to do is just no what fits them. maybe it did when they were younger but it doesn't now, or maybe they're just burnt out from the game, but rather than taking a step back or changing how they play they decide that this is somehow minecraft's fault, and call it boring.

Most long term players are passionate about the base game or a slightly altered version. Most long term players also rush the beginning so they can build.

totally agree. I took advice of some youtubers with long-lived world - updated my 2yo world to 1.21, flew away, put everything in ender chest, put a sign with portal coords and started to survive again. Taking it slow, while having an option to go back to my old stuff. I enjoyed trial chambers with iron and then diamond gear, got the mace and all 1.21 new content and tomorrow plan to write an in-game book, try myself in pixel art for fun, and return to my overpowered gear and large projects, with an ability to always return to more base gameplay and enjoy. I now plan to do the same for every new update - run away and start again, enriching my already existing world and its story

I found that my biggest loss of joy in minecraft was after my massive teenage depressive years. And it coincides with the fact I struggle to just behave like the kid I once was. But as my mental health got better and as I started finding more ways to express creativity, minecraft got way more fun again, because I was finally just playing it with that same lens of "Let's just go and do stuff!" Tbh I just find minecraft boring cause I just aint creative, in older minecraft versions there where so little amount of blocks that I'd just find it so easy to create something, but nowadays there are like 700+ blocks, and you also got slabs and stairs and all this extra stuff. (Also am talking about singleplayer here, multiplayer is still insanely fun) Also I'm not sure why my brain feels like progression is something I have to do, I always forget it's optional, though my brain wants to speedrun through it, I always just end up quitting after getting full iron bc I feel overwhelmed by all the progression stuff I have to do. So lately i've been trying to force myself to just ignore progression and make everything be as slow as possible, it's actualy insanely fun and refreshing ngl. (building skills still ass though...)

I started playing Minecraft PE when I was FOUR I think it was so fun because I could build anything and it would make sense because I was too stupid to know the real purpose of anything It was so frustrating not knowing what anything was because I couldn’t read though I was terrified when I accidentally spawned an enderman one time It kept walking into the sea and died

I think another reason people are thinking “Minecraft isn’t fun anymore” is because of of the lack of adventure maps. I don’t know if I’m just not paying attention, but back in the day adventure maps went crazy! We had Herobrine’s Mansion/Revenge, Frozen Caverns, Woosh Games Theme Park, Cops n Robbers, just to name a few! Once again I could just not be paying attention but I don’t see anyone playing adventure maps anymore.

I think that for a lot of people, minecraft not being fun is them seeing youtubers and other people do so much (an example being a megabuild for example) or having good stats on a server, and that people then compare themselves to those youtubers. And seeing that they arent as good or cant do it as quick puts them off mentally, i feel like this is a good reason. So technically for people saying just go play multiplayer, i feel like thats not always necessarily a good thing as people comparing themselves can bring them to turn away from the game.

We get older, things in life start taking up space in our minds and our brains started to get constrained to fit into a little box that we built for ourselves. We started getting this idea that building new creative stuff is hard or that we can't be bothered to do it. That isn't really Minecraft's fault, we just failed to live up to what the game can offer.

a youtuber called flowstate made me enjoy minecraft, his peaceful videos and commentary just made me want to play minecraft again, I was really sick of seeing all these hardcore speedrun things, It made me scared to play the game (yes I'm a scaredy cat, I can't go mining without like 5 stacks of torches) but thinking about just playing it peacefully made it sound so much more appealing, I joined a chill minecraft survival server and I'm having a lot of fun

I tried playing minecraft bedrock today and I lost everything on my microsoft account and I couldn't play multiplayer for some reason, and I also spent like 10 minutes just trying to get the Steve skin, very fun indeed

I used to play Minecraft with my brother, when he stopped playing, I was left behind in the dust I have stayed with the Minecraft community for over 11 years from the OG Xbox 360 days all the way to the modded Java days which is rich now. I have never gotten board of the game for more than a week, I love the game and the community and can't wait to see what it becomes. Edit: Btw my brother plays the game with me now after no joke 6 years

Finally someone said it, i just replayed minecraft recently and im having a blast, i feel like im addicted to minecraft again, sure im using mods and all, horror and gun mods to be more specific, but still, the game remain just as if not even more fun, so quit yapping, the game is still fun, you are just a boring adult, im about to turn 27 btw.
