given bedrock's universal nature and more efficient code (how much of that is using C++ rather than java and how much is better optimisation), it'd be nice if the reliability of java redstone and the faster pistons made it across even if some of the other stuff didn't. movable tile entities seems like both a blessing and a curse depending on what you're doing. i do prefer the java ui though

Hearing "the Bow tie man is the go to person for Redstone tutorials"... How!? I'm an idiot 😂 But like you said in the vid, there are lots of insane redstoners who never do anything with their builds, so it's great that people are slowly starting to make content for it 😅 Thanks so much, well put together video. First of all, thanks for the shoutout I wanted to say that observers have a 2 tick delay for the first 3 in a chain and then a 1 tick delay for the rest (roughly). Also, on the topic of weird pulses on bedrock, if you build a piston based monostable (repeater going into piston set to 2 ticks and repeater set to 1 tick going into block before it extends) and change the timings to 3 ticks (for the repeater going into the block) and 1 tick, on the falling edge you will create a pulse that works in the opposite way than the "0 tick pulses" that I mentioned.

Bridging the gap between Java and Bedrock Redstone will be the best way to ensure it'll work first time, beyond manually checking over it and comparing to the tutorial. In my opinion, the Java's piston mechanics and Bedrock's movable storage blocks should be consistent across both versions.

0-tick means a redstone pulse that takes 0 ticks, similar to 1-tick, 2-tick etc. 0-tick farms are farms that work with 0-ticks and 0-tick piston doors are doors that work with 0-ticks. The bedrock "0-tick farm should be called "3-tick farm" bevause that clock give 3-tick pulses. In the ovserver with sticly piston thing can be called a 0-tick pulse,but it is kinda useless compared to java 0-tick
@WolfTamer
@WolfTamer 3 жыл бұрын
it should probably be said that the weird psuedo 0-tick can also be done by having an observer running into sand with a piston facing upwards,redstone dust next to the sand on top of an opaque block. I probably did a terrible job making it WAY more complicated than it actually is.

To explain Java zero tick (I’m on bedrock) it also uses update order. In the Minecraft code all the repeaters do their math before all the comparator because code runs top to bottom and the since the repeater was added before the comparacter it’s earlier in the code
@rednc325
@rednc325 2 жыл бұрын
Not really. Comparators power later in the tick because of "tiletick priority", which is the order in which components power within a tick. 0 tick monostables which rely on tiletick priority aren't used much at all too.

Ok another thing. About why Bedrock piston is a bit random. This is caused by the piston code that is in the game. The code make it semi-randomized, because of the parallelisation in the code. So instead of re-lining up the order, they decided to go the opposite, which make piston randomized. (I knew u see the convo on synergy discord but i write this for an explanation) Even though this is a thing. There are still pros in this (Especially Chinese Redstoner, would say Asian for the most part). And you kind of miss the jukebox feature, comparator reading signal from a container through piston, whether its extend or retract.

Assuming this only affects things that are location/rotation dependent on java (like the main example in the video), I think it's a good thing. I don't have any experience with bedrock, so the execution might be terrible there, I am mainly talking about the idea on its own. I would rather have things not be location and rotation dependent at all, but that's relatively difficult to achieve. At least with this simple randomization code in place, you are more easily aware of the fact that something isn't stable. In java it isn't rare to build something complex, and later find out it's either location/rotation dependent which really sucks.

Ik that a lot of redstoners dislike not being able to move tile entities with pistons, but sometimes it's pretty nice when dealing with slime and honey

Yup said it all good but I would like to point out that on Java the the budding with 2 high pistons is because of something most people cal quasi connectivity and it’s just that pistons check if the block above them are powered in Java.

Ok, but on the topic of asking if something still works, if someone just says “it doesn’t work” without anything else, I get that it can get really annoying. But some people are asking if the red stone still works in newer versions. And that’s not the redstoner’s fault and they should not get offended by it. It’s because the red stone changes in an update sometimes breaks stuff. Especially stuff that uses weird quirks and glitches. Anyways, I just wanted to point that out

we can make piston relible in bedrock edition(kind of). go and watch navenexus video about it, also piston ( i think) power 1 tick later when they getting powerd, and piston has a 8 game tick cycle so that means if u power a piston u need to power piston again 8 game tick later. about the 0_tick, as i said piston has a 1 tick delay to activate, and that comparator makes it higher so piston activates so slowly, but if we remove that comparator, we get c_tick pulse(c_tick pulse is the closest pulse to 0_tick) if you want to activate repeater,comparator,observer and redstone torch you can,t( i don,t know actualy why but i think its because its less than a tick and all if them have a 1 _tick delay at least, they don,t power,as i said i am not sure why.) but you can power: dispenser,piston,tnt,bell,hopper etc. this is not the only way of creating c_tick pulse. we could change the repeater with observer or place a piston horizontally, then place observer facing down and place block on top the dot and lastly place a dust on top of piston, if you power piston(using lever for example) then unpower it(just one time) you see it makes a clock. this is a clock using a c_tick and its the same just its a clock. also the redstone dust technically power but it dosen't show.if u try to power dispenser or dropper with it u see its slow. How can we make it faster? Well as i said piston has 1 game tick delay to activate a 8 game tick cycle, that means u need to wait 8 game tick after you power so you can power it faster, if you run it with lower than 8 ticks,than it would be slower in terms of redstone clock.c_tick clock its run by piston cycle wich is 8 game tick and this is why the droppers are so slow. if u see the desine that i tell you how to build it, you see the piston activate again when its fully retracted, so why we don,t just activate it when its push the observer?then it wouldn't be c_tick clock because its dosen't run by 8 gt cycle. so that means we can,t make faster than 8gt clock,right?well, we can indeed make it faster, this is how: place block on top of observer when its push by a piston, then place a block on top of dust wich is on top of piston, then place dust on top of those two block. the reason why we place a block on top of that dust is beacuse if the piston power twice it wouldn't be 8gt cycle.(its because:the piston push the observer, then it need to be powered again 8gt later but the observer activate the piston and its make a another cycle so the piston will retract slower) after you build the dropper and dispenser and otherthings c_ticks clock and know how it works, you could use these two dust to activate them.(for activating another piston, its better to use the dust on top of piston to activate them becayse its maximum piston speed clock and cycle. i hope you not get bored and also it have some typing problems.also go and check the ben the human video about c_ticks. EDIT:the clock that i show you is completely found by me, no one has created it(that is why i have so much information about it), about the c_tick, the first video i see about it is by ben the human.
