i also got the village and pillage update for minecraft ps4 console edition on disk the update it self is cool but iron farms just spawn one iron golem every 190 years and villagers are pretty broken as removing there job side block and re placing it just resets there trades or if they become zombie villagers they loss there trades and mending for 5 emeralds is insane

Yes! When I downloaded the game on ps5 too with my old disc, there was the legacy edition button still there, and I could even transfer my legacy 1.14 maps to the ps5 legacy edition!

That's because Sony didn't want crossplay on the PS4 at that time, so 4J Studios had to keep updating the legacy edition of Minecraft just for the PS4 exclusively

Honestly keeping old combat and textures would be great. However post 1.14-15 Minecraft isn’t that great especially with 1.16+

This is unfortunate because the bedrock Xbox version has been in the most vile state I've ever seen. It has a load screen for at least 15 minutes, freezes and has super terrible input lag. I have to wipe my console to fix this issue which is BS. It's hilarious how Microsoft's own console is the absolute worst in performance and stability. (My issue is because I have an old copy of my game, Mojang made a super busted update where it corrupted my copy and these bugs were the result.)

Just curious what Xbox console are you playing bedrock on? I had those issues on the Xbox One, but when it was on it's death bed I upgraded to Series X and 99% of those problems vanished.

I am on the Xbox One X, but this console used to be labeled as, "The world's most powerful console." As I stated in my comment, it's due to a broken version and I have to wipe my data to fix this. It's not surprising that it did fix your issues when you upgraded, but for people who aren't knowledgeable are left in the dark.

@@Prevailing_Chaos Yeah, Bedrock will never work well on the Xbox One series of consoles, lets' be real, Bedrock is about as optimized as ARK Survival Evolved.

I haven't had many issues with bedrock lag. I think most of the lag is coming from doing things that absolutely would lag the game. While I enjoyed legacy way more than current bedrock it just wasn't the best for Minecraft gameplay wise because not every world had the structures you needed.

@@coolcrazyguyer But bedrock edition is complete garbage while legacy console is much better, they are both made using C++. Bedrock is completely unoptimized for the latest consoles, or even last gen consoles to the point where I'd rather play the outdated legacy console versions than continue to play Bedrock. Yes, legacy had limited world sizes, but that was do to (now less restrictive) save file size limitations introduced by the console makers rather than 4j studios, and thus it could likely be removed if they brought it back. Granted, I actually liked the limited world sizes since it gave you the unique opportunity to explore the whole world without feeling lost. It gave you the opportunity to fill in the whole world with cool builds. There is one good thing about it being discontinued though, it can be decompiled and maybe a PC port of it can be made. (yes I know Java and Bedrock are both on PC, but Legacy is so well optimized that I'd rather play that then either of the other versions)

Honestly I still play Legacy on my Series X, if we got update Aquatic and then that was it, I'd be happy with that, I just want it to match across all platforms it's on, and the 360, PS3, and Wii U editions getting update aquatic while the PS4, Xbox One, and Switch editions are left high and dry, was as moronic back then as it is now. Let's be real, that was done as an attempt to stop people from choosing legacy over bedrock. When that didn't work, Microsoft just pulled all versions of legacy edition off of store shelves, which is equally as moronic.

Some answer no disk. I’m not sure if you bought legacy digitally a few years ago but if you did you should be able to play and get the updates as long as your using the same Microsoft account (If it automatically updated you shouldn’t have the free bedrock button)

If you have a friend who owns the Legacy version on the XB1 you can still update your 360 world to Bedrock by using their primary or copy of the disc. Just port the 360 world to Legacy edition and then port it from Legacy to Bedrock.

That’s not a bad idea actually.

@@Dwayne_LaFontant just due note that your original Xbox 360 world borders mayyy corrupt a bit when porting from 360 to Legacy. (Its nothing crazy. Any builds you have made might lose a few blocks or glitch out if the blocks are stairs but you could also get some cool glitches like what happened to me with underwater lava and underwater torches for example)
