same, even though he's not really apart of Minecraft they need some type of way to include Herobrine. I think Minecraft owes it to the fans to have Herobrine at least referenced in the movie. Herobrine has been part of the community for so long, and has been so popular that it's basically a part of minecraft now. If you went up to litterly anyone that plays Minecraft and ask them about Herobrine they would know about him.

I hope they reconsider and end up animating it. Minecraft is one of those videos that NEEDS to be animated. If it does however end up in live action, I hope they at least dont go with the Jumanji style, it just doesn't sit right with me. But until then, my expectations are pretty low until we get a trailer.

Honestly, I’m more interested in the tv show coming out. I’m sorry, but it should be a no-brainer to make an official story adaptation of Minecraft animated. Minecraft animations are literally everywhere. I mean, it will be interesting to see the practical effects and visuals of this Minecraft movie, but I don’t think I’ll be as invested as I could’ve been with an animated movie.

This is probably the movie I have felt the most confused about. I am a years long Minecraft fan and player, so please excuse this comment if it is too long for you to read. I have been hoping that the Minecraft Movie will be a video game movie that respects Minecraft, the game itself; gamers, and that will not be like the Super Mario Bros. movie from 1993. I have been waiting for this movie for years, and the more information I get, the more I feel it will not be true to the game. I hope that they will treat Steve, Alex, and maybe Herobrine with respect as they make their stories. I know Jack Black has been a Minecraft fan for years, but I am still skeptical of how he will treat Steve. I was originally ok will Steve Carell being in it, but am sad to see he will not be. As far as Jason Momoa being in it, I think he could do a pretty good job as long as he does not approach from a way that keeps the game away. I was also hoping that, as Minecraft is a game that probably thousands of KZbinrs exclusively have played, it would have KZbinr cameo appearances/voices. As far as the movie itself, I was hoping it would be either animated or animated/live-action so they could could be as true to the game as possible. I hope that it will not be comedic more than it is about the authentic story of what Minecraft is. I hope that it will not be a movie where the characters wander aimlessly, and is no real story. I also hope that it will not be a movie where teenage girls are sucked into a game, because that would spoil the reason I have been wanting this movie to come out. I was hoping the story would be either the characters getting into Minecraft or Minecraft invading real life and that it would include a final battle with the main antagonist of the game, The Ender Dragon, and would show why he is the final boss of Minecraft. The best we have had at Minecraft animation so far has either been from Mojiang themself or from Blue Monkey, I was hoping that they would show Minecraft the same way. The best we have had for a story so far has been the made-up story of Minecraft: Story Mode, I was wanting Minecraft to take the same approach. Whatever approach that they are taking, I want one thing, for them to Finally Release Minecraft: the Movie in theaters.

If their smart about it they would use the music discs and insane sounds that we hear through out the Silent Story to tell what really went down with the ancient builders. Sure we have structures like the ancent city and the ocean temple but it would be nice to SEE all the insanity that went down alont with bringing Herobrine into the mix somehow since he was always There in the updates. Never fully being removed, always lurking in the Fog. Steve being the last person of his kind with Alex by his side, they come by diaries that were left behind and maybe meet some OLD villagers that remember meeting Steve and Alex's original kind. Just spitting. Still looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

I bet it's going to be a mix of the two ideas. Jason is a regular human that falls into Minecraft universe (jumanji) and Jack Black is an in-game CGI character (Jack Black doesn't have the physicality to look like regular Steve; too fat). Imagine if we get an actual Herobrine anti-hero story, where Jack Black plays both Steve and Herobrine (his evil doppelganger). Then Steve and Jason have to team up to defeat Herobrine. That would be a badass story. Imagine if they have like a banished zone they send Herobrine to once defeated and it's the 2b2t server. Dang that'd be cool.

I wouldn't mind the Jumanji route, after all I recall a whole slew of unofficial minecraft books from 2012-2013 where that's exactly what happened: Player playing Minecraft only to somehow get stuck in the game. So technically... Minecraft did it before Jumanji

I just don't see how live action would work and with Jack Black, I can already guess the tone. Which I'm also unsure of. There's so much awesome lore to the game they could easily dive deep in to and add so much to the base game experience. Armed with new knowledge of history behind each mob and dimension. Given that shooting is already done, it's gonna be what it's gonna be and it's not gonna change. I'm hoping they will release an early teaser trailer far ahead of anticipated release just to they can get fan reactions. Like in the case with the Sonic movie, so hopefully if it looks like a disaster, it could still be salvaged.
