I love playing in UHC mode. I started when Mindcrack started the new map. I now have 3 beacons and finally have a use for making potions. And now have a use for the massive amouts of iron that I collect. It gives me a reason to make the mob farms. Like Guude says, it balances the game better. It's actually possible to die now when I have my best armor on. I understand why some people with limited time have a hard time with it though.

UHC mode had become so popular that Dinnerbone added the ability to replicate the main feature in vanilla Minecraft. If you use the command "/gamerule naturalRegeneration false" on a world, all players in that world will cease to regenerate their health naturally. This is not the EXACT same as it was in UHC season 1 as it does not change potion recipes, but it is pretty close and is what the MindCrack server has been using since the beginning of season 4. I hope this is what you are looking for!

Just want to you to know that you and the other mindcrackers have been a major factor in keeping me interested in minecraft. you should really get some of the other guys like baj, generik or anyone you think capable to help keeping everything going. you don't have to do it all by yourselfe. there must be others you can trust to take care of some of your work and you need your channel to stay alive for you to be able to keep the whole thing running. that does need to be a priority. thank you guud

Etho meant the season was one of the longest not the whole series since season 1, Doc also had a pretty big World Tour seasons..some people tend to change map in just a few episodes :) i love that u guys dont, it shows u have such great patience, skill and imagination :)
