One thing i hate about this version is that its in version 1.14. I just dont get why its in the modern version, would make more sense if the world looked like an infedev style world, with the lime green grass biome going on forever. Along with the inclusion of swimming, hunger and sprinting. I do have to give credit to the developer for the whole style of this mod. The whole warpy-ness and how sometimes the game just breaks is a very cool feature.
@snow_squid10 ай бұрын
The dev said that it is using 1.14 because back in the PS1 days, games were actually had to be finished when they were released because the devs couldnt just add update later.

I love how the graphics are actually PS1-accurate, from the texture distortion caused by a lack of Z-buffer, to the dithering used because the PS1 only had 16-bit color. The attention to detail is pretty sweet :P
@HyperMario649 ай бұрын
The texture distortion comes from the affine texture mapper on the PlayStation. It's not perspective corrected, just interpolates texture coordinates linearly in screen-space. This version does work with a Z-buffer, you can see some item models being clipped by the surface of the rest of the world.
@SKCro.9 ай бұрын
@@HyperMario64Ah, thanks for the technical details! I just assumed that this mod either forced Minecraft's rendering engine not to use a Z-buffer or emulated the lack of Z-buffer using some creative rendering tricks.

The scary part about playing old Minecraft, is the fact that you always think that something is watching you. And I'm not talking about the mobs, because the mobs cannot see, I'm talking about an actual entity hidden inside the game. Because I remember playing Minecraft on my PS3 back in 2015, and me and my friend were playing survival, and me and him went into this dark forest at night, and I see him standing there, and he's like "Dude, someones right there!" And I go to him, and me and him are both staring at another Steve character, it wasn't Herobrine though, it had normal eyes, and then it disappears when we walk up to it. That day, I was convinced that there was something hidden in Minecraft, me and my friend literally had to talk about it after school, it was so scary and fun at the same time. I really do miss those days.

Really cool video, +1 sub. Some feedback tho, it broke the "strange cursed minecraft from 1990s" effect when the swimming animation from 2018's 1.13 update came out. Not to mention steve's texture is from more recent updates. Maybe in the future with MC videos like this you could play in an older version of minecraft with mods instead. Anyways, good video. I haven't heard anything about a remake. I do remember there was a re-release a year later due to the "Herobrine Glitch" but thats about it. Come to think of it though I heard the re-release didn't even fix it. Who knows. Bunch of us still play Minecraft today even though its almost like 28 years old.
