8:49 When lava flows, it firsts set the block to magma, then sets the data value to one to signify that it has flown away a single block from th source. After this is causes a block update The act of destroying a redstone dust, causes a block update in the water tile, at which point the lava still thinks it is a source tile. This causes the water to turn the lava to directly change into obsidian. Then it sets the data on the obsidian to 1, which has no effect on the obsidian, before updating the water again
@SiLouYoungIII8 ай бұрын
You're addicted to this game
@Arthaius3 ай бұрын
- Yeah not sure why this method would be used, seems a little more time consuming than necessary, plus you require redstone, I always found it easier to just grab a bucket of lava put it in place, make it obsidian, then grab the next bucket, I mean you only need 10 to make the portal, and he had a ton of it around, so would have been really easy.
@Arthaius3 ай бұрын
- Plus, does not require a diamond pick to do it because you are placing the lava exactly where you want the obsidian. like using wood to start the portal up is harder.

I remember using a mod via CurseForge that'd basically restore old world generation without taking away any of the new stuff. I had a Glacier world that I had a lot of fun on, but took so fucking long to boot up, I uninstalled CurseForge. I'm really wanting to do this 404 challenge with that mod on!
@amberhernandez5 ай бұрын
I know it's not vanilla, but the Stoneblock modpack sets you up in a small room underground, and you have to open up new areas from there. It does rely on _Ex Nihilo_ (lit. "From Nothing") to get organic materials like saplings, seeds, and such, and has a lot of extra objectives due to the pack. If that underground experience does interest you, I'd highly recommend it!

Another pal got wood and tree farmed. He also got a sheep and cow and we made beds and got milk for cakes. 3. Another pal got seeds sugarcane and crops and somehow water bucket 4. Another pal got dirt a chicken and lots of cobblestone. 5. Another friend just got mushrooms and decorated and planted the crops with lava. It was fun and funny. Bedrock was just a 4 block high lava dripping from the ceiling and tons of slime. We were able to meme to the nether and got crops wood and made a labyrnth. We took a few liberties but never used torched because wood charcoal and coal were so low all the time. Its fun and i DEFINTELY recommend with friends. Shenanigans will ensue.
