Today is April 1 and tradionally, Mojang releases either some sort of joke snapshot or some other content. I will show you all the additions, changes and fixes added to this snapshot! This year's snapshot adds a new potato dimension to minecraft! This dimension is accessed by using a poisonous potato on a pedestal, which opens up the potato portal. The pedestal can be found by throwing potato eyes, which are crafted from poisonous potatoes. The poisonous potato plant, which is found in the bonus chest gives you tips on how to beat the game! Inside the potato dimension, you can find potato villages, potone, poisonous potato fries, poisonous potato chips, poisonous potato themed mobs, hash browns, big brain, potato of knowledge, hot potato, poisonous potato hammer, poisonous pota-toes, poisonous potato chestplate, poisonous polytra, poisonous potato cutter, frying table, potato refinery, potato oil, the lashing potato, potato peeler, dent, floatato, floatater, powerfull potato, strong roots, weak roots, toxic resin, amber gems, potato trees, terre de pomme, peelgrass blocks, gravtater, viciouis potato, resin ore, taterstone, baked potato bricks, quadruple compressed poisonous potato blocks, poisonous potato headpiece, batato, toxifin slab, plaguewhale slab and the mega spud boss. Furthermore, there are potato peels in all the different colors and blocks of potato peels. Finally, there are 7 new potato paintings!

I know probably a lot of this snapshot’s content is not 100% bug free and finished. But if they could add correctly the floatater to the vanilla game, it would revolutionize the game, just imagine moving boats and ships in minecraft that can actually be fully customizable (unlike the moving red stone slime machines, which also are very hard to build for red stone noobs like me)

appreciate this vid a lot as it seems to be the only one youtube shows that has the aftermath of the boss in it :) i spent ages doing it and it was bugged, so once the boss died after all the phases i didn't get the staff and nothing happened ;/ (i had resistance 255 ofc, boss is crazy hard lol, but still) glad i could see what it was supposed to be

Why is it that the April fools updates for Minecraft have been some of the best and most unique updates of all time in my opinion.

It’s because they are jokes that don’t have any of the problems that a real update poses for development. Real updates need to be polished and iterated upon, internally consistent and balanced with the rest of the game, and have parity with bedrock edition. The April fools snapshots don’t need to do any of that. The devs can just think of a funny idea and add it without any more thought since there’s no consequence. This is literally the first year ever that bedrock got ANY in game stuff for April fools. Adding new features is the quick part. It’s like how people can mod in features that mojang announce like an hour after they are announced

If they're doing the update, it's not going to be 1.21 (we arent even in 1.21's Update Cycle yet, we're still in 1.20.5's by the way). April Fools does so much so fast because they have full control and dont have to deal with Bedrock, unlike the main game.

Think it’s because it’s really hard to make a dungeon that’s well designed and well balanced gameplay wise. Plus if you notice, most of the structures and biomes are pretty simple, or reused assets just build with new blocks. Like the entire boss arena is just a bastion made of the new potato blocks. The “new” villages are just over world village that again is just made of new blocks. The new terrain looks like some of the old ones form back in the day, the new infested biome is just an oak forest made of potato blocks, and so on. So me personally would not say they put more effort into this update, but it’s definitely cool and unique.

@@jonasg.bisgaard1086 I see your point, but for arguments sake, I do like to see more things being added to the game instead of nothing. The potato stuff, even just reused assets, is still nice to have something new. Yeah mojang is adding the mace and trial chambers, but I personally feel like we need another rare above ground structure, or an overall structure rework. It’s just not rewarding enough to go to a woodland mansion, or an underwater monument. I understand that it’s hard to appeal to the larger audience, but Minecraft isn’t adventurous anymore, it’s not about survival anymore. We don’t really need a new structure with new mobs and weapons, yes it would be nice, but one of these has to be rare enough for it to be worth the adventure, but not so rare that nobody goes looking for its treasure, like the ancient city and its silence armor trim. Most Minecraft players wouldn’t go through all that trouble, I think that is more of a Minecraft KZbinr goal.
