A few things I found out with the Floataters: 1) they can move obsidian 2) you can set it up so that a redstone block is constantly touching the floatater, doubling its speed 3) it can be activated with any redstone 4) not about floatater, but if you stand on the potato battery it makes a funny sound and sends out particles

For example, I moved a 25 x 25 chunk of the nether roof, from the top layer of bedrock 30 blocks down with a single floatater. it cleared a massive hole from the bedrock ceiling. Easiest bedrock clearing ever XD

The April fools snapshots are rushed and not nearly as polished or well made as vanilla, the features don't have to be polished, balanced, or even good. Many of the features are bad and overpowered. They put the same amount of work as any snapshot but this time they don't have to make sure they are good so of course they can add way more stuff. The grappling hook is too op, the moving blocks removes the whole point of flying machines are makes many things too easy. And more, so shush.

I also noticed that this update seems like a mix of 'things we added for laughs' and 'things we added because we want them in the main game but the higher-ups won't let us'. A whole Dimension seems a bit too 'large' for something happening anytime soon, but I'd put bets that they might try to add an actual grappling-hook at some point (maybe not as powerful as the one in this snapshot). 1.21's already adding the Mace, and with it's theme of exploration and adventure it's not that far off to expect them to add other treasures to find too...

I'd like to correct a few things from the video and wiki. In regards to the *floatater* : From the video it is implied only the floatato and battery can make flying things, the floatater can attach to most non-fluid, non-tile entity blocks, and can be activated by any redstone emmiting block (The battery has a power of 15 when active). And to correct the wiki after extensive testing, the floatater movable structure has a max size of 32 blocks in each direction(floatater is included in this measurement), regardless of the actual position of the floatater in it, not a 30 block radius as stated in the wiki. And this one is just for the wiki editors In regards to the *Toxifin slab* and *Plaguewhale slab* , it is stated they can stack to resemble a dual tailed guardian/elder guardian respectively, however they can actually go up to a triple stack, making them resemble a slightly taller guardian/elder guardian. I presume this, similarly to the boss, is to make them rectangular to resemble a potato.

I highly doubt any of the things in this snapshot were ever written purely for the snapshot. You can see it from the assets, everythings been recycled. When, why or from where the floatato, floater, grappling hook etc. were recycled is anybodys guess. I like most of the "unique" stuff here, hopefully its been recycled from a potential feature and not from a scrapped one.

Thats what snapshots are for. They can add a bunch of things and polish them into the game based on community feedback without any backlash. Its not like adding 2 mobs and 3 new blocks is "more vanilla", updates literally are expansion of said "vanilla"

I think the fact that Mojang clearly puts so much effort into the April Fools' updates lends credence to the rumor that the executives at Microsoft are too afraid to let the devs actually change the base game. So the only time the devs can add creative things that change the game is April 1st.

I hope people remember the sheer amount of gates mojang has to go through to implement even one feature: 1) Behaviour parity between Java and Bedrock 2) Control parity between all the different platforms Bedrock is in 3) The sheer amount of polish to make sure no big bugs exist 4) Making sure all target audiences can understand the game mechanics without assistance 5) The potential bureaucracy within Mojang, or between it and Microsoft 6) Trying to scope all these features and pipelines to meet product deadlines We are allowed to freely criticize Mojang's balancing decisions and mantras, and it also kinda sucks that there isn't that much content for every year of minecraft updates. However, please be realistic in terms of why these things can't be added. 1.21 is the first update out of Caves and Cliffs purgatory. Surely they can improve themselves in the future.

The April fools snapshots are rushed and not nearly as polished or well made as vanilla, the features don't have to be polished, balanced, or even good. They could add all three mobs, but they won't because that's the whole point of a vote. Many of the features are bad and overpowered. They put the same amount of work as any snapshot but this time they don't have to make sure they are good so of course they can add way more stuff. The grappling hook is too op, the moving blocks removes the whole point of flying machines are makes many things too easy. And more, so shush.

1 day. 1 day people will understand that adding a new dimention is not technically hard, adding a fun dimention with high replayability is. An experienced modder could have thrown this together in a week or two (maybe except floaters), but if this made it to vanilla, the novelty would be gone after some time, and nobody would use most of these features. It'd be like 1.20 but even worse.

@@francescotrinci6405 not sure about grappling hook, but floatater is probably them testing out a new feature, like they did with the size potions or 3d biomes. Mistycat showed in their video that it's clearly early in development, so if we do get it, we likely won't see it until next winter.
