If you haven't built it yet, build it now! I didn't include any of the bottom water, since xp will move to you anyway! Question: can I use this for slimes as well? Like will they spawn above the player's head like the silverfish?

You mean with the oozing potion, right? I haven’t had time to play around with that yet. All I know is that slimes spawn upon mob death so you can’t use this exact setup to mass produce them. I’ll try to look into it more closely this summer!

I feel stupid now spending hours to figure out how to have mobs take damage but not die and no silverfish excaping the slime farm. The final design i came up with was 4 despensers with snowballs in them looking down in 2x2 grid at zombies standing on 16 candles with 4 open trapdoors at the heads of the zombies to stop them from falling into the slime farm part The stuff i tried was witches but they ever died or took no damage after a while and snow golems throwing snowballs at husks but ever the snow golems could not hit the husks or silverfish could kill the snow golems or the silverfish could escape the farm. So that is how i landed on the despensers and how i landed on the candles was that i was trying to have the silverfish fall easily but ceep the husks in place so was just trying all the weird hit boxes until something worked Used husks in testing instead of zombies as couldn't be bothered building a roof every time

I like the idea of snowballs. I actually want to explore it. Thanks! One possible issue I can see is that snowballs can only hit one mob, so you can’t have several mobs take damage from one single source.

The issue with snowballs is that they can only hit 1 mob at a time. They might work on a player (no armor and no regeneration sure is enticing), I have a couple of ideas I want to try. But they would be more complex than this magma based design. It is a fun direction to take things to.

So apparently my trapdoor is in the wrong side, i destroyed it and replaced it to the right side and it fixes it, turns out im just not paying attention😅 Also, that safety piston where it pushes you out of magma block is genius!, looking forward for more of your farm techniques discoveries 🤞

May I know what seemed complicated to you? This farm requires less than 2 stacks of items in total to be built - not counting the potions of course. It seems pretty barebones and accessible to me.

@@oaretv I'm not a redstone guy, so that's probably a large part of my issue. Yes it's compact, and the design is inspired, but it goes over my head as to how it all connects. From a pure "build" POV, IMO you often placed and broke blocks too rapidly, making it hard to follow. And with all the clear blocks, it was hard to see exactly what you were doing at times. Again, these are probably just my issues, but since you asked... If I followed this video in slo-mo I doubt I could replicate it correctly, let alone rapidly as advertised, so I had to laugh. I think "simple" might not be the best word for it. Compact and brilliant, yes.

Material list is: - 1 magma block, - 3 soul sand blocks, - 1 comparator, - 1 repeater, - 3 trapdoors, - 3 wall blocks, - 1 pressure plate, - about a dozen redstone dusts, - two buckets of water, - two buttons, - three tridents. The rest is just any block that you want to fill up the gaps as described in the video. About a stack of them. You can use cobblestone, wood, dirt, anything you have handy.

This is a great xp farm idea!, but there's also an easier way without getting the need to be advanced, I found an easy free way to infinitely heal allay during the farm I used the witch

The aim of this farm is to avoid tinkering with any extra mobs. Allays on a leash are terrible to work with. Witches can die and hog a spot in the mob cap. This is meant to bypass all these issues.
