Thank you for making the Equinox Tutorial series of videos. They're very helpful to me. I'm one of those folks who learn better seeing a video showing exactly what to do.

I am REALLY glad I found this channel - It explains a lot about the 600 Equinox and settings. I've been detecting with Minelab gear for 11 years, but this detector is a really different animal from my other ones. Many thanks!

Correction at 1:30 if you do not want to miss the “non ferrous” not the ferrous amongst the trash, a lower iron bias is recommended. To view more Minelab Equinox Tutorial playlist kzbin.info/aero/PLpymZHu8sv5nwrk34ID53OxszE8fjuDFC

Charles Saine depends on you and your site.. it’s a versatile machine, I personally feel the lower you can handle the iron bias the better.. if your having trouble with iron you can start increasing it slowly and find what setting you prefer.. but the higher the iron bias the more chance you may leave something behind. I personally have been using it on zero but may increase it in extreme conditions this year.

As always another great tutorial video! You do such a great job and a service to the detecting community. On a side note, have you ever thought about doing voice overs professionally? If interested, perhaps contact a voice over talent agent. Or perhaps you are doing professional work already. I think your work speaks for itself of the quality of your skills. You can always use your created videos as to demonstrate the work you do. Best wishes...just a thought.

Hello. Today after the Equinox update, there is a new option in the settings of Iron bias-F2. Can you help me understand the action of F2? Please
@RelicDirtyhands5 жыл бұрын
Robert Glembin hello Robert, from what I understand, they added a new enhanced iron bias setting. You can choose the original FE or now F2 if you’re digging a lot of nails and bottle caps do to falsing, you may prefer this new F2 setting. I’ve seen so little information on it. Anything else I may say, could be my own assumptions. I’m going to do the download and try it out this weekend.

@@RelicDirtyhands I tried on the Bottle Cup and it works great but I don't understand yet how high the F2 setting can affect the entire rest of the detector interpretation. I mean other metals, coins, jewellery or even depth. If you had all these aspects in mind during your tests. Please

Robert Glembin okay I have the specs, I’ll try to get out a tutorial to explain the difference between and how to navigate to F2 👍

@@RelicDirtyhands do you know, will the updated F2 settings work in Multi Frequency mode, or does it have to be ran in all metal mode. Thanks
@RelicDirtyhands5 жыл бұрын
luvbgrass yes it works in multi and it’s recommended to use all metal with F2

bonjour je fais que la mer et je trouve que l'iron bias a 0 donne plus de puissance et permet de moins masquer une bague en or qui serait prêt d'un ferreux est ce que je me trompe ? merci

I think the iron bias is just as much a mystery as threshold, both a waste of time
@RelicDirtyhands5 жыл бұрын
Ashton Al. High iron bias less falsifying from iron but you can miss stuff mask by iron. Low iron bias gives you a natural response but you may dig false targets. It depends how much patience a user has. I love using zero iron bias and pick through dense iron. Sometimes I’ll throw it into a max iron bias when I have less time and patience.
@decoman1004 жыл бұрын
still lost
@RelicDirtyhands4 жыл бұрын
How can I help 😊 0 iron bias gives you the natural response to iron. The higher it’s raised the more the detector will classify it as iron. Are you having difficulty with iron? If so what type of iron? Large iron relics or nails?

jj diggins I hope to add to this series but digging season is starting, I’m going to try hard to incorporate my setting and why I’m making that selection for the different sites I find myself at this year.. 👍
@jjdiggins4225 жыл бұрын
Relic Dirtyhands that will be helpful I’m learning but still chasing settings cause of the certain areas I go to are trashy and I’m not sure how much iron bias and recovery rate to use. 🤔
@RelicDirtyhands5 жыл бұрын
jj diggins what I plan to do is slowly increase or decrease certain settings. If I’m not looking for depth but better separation in trash I’ll slowly increase my recovery speed to 7-8 but by doing this I loose depth.. the iron bias, I would leave on default 0 but I did notice in most extreme trash, iron infested sites.. it was tough on the brain trying to isolate and analyze each signal.. if I get tiered I would raise my iron bias slowly until I felt less falsing on iron.. but again I would use this in moderation as many of our sites have been hunted a long time.. therefore I want to hear the targets being masked.. by iron.. this is where I love the versatility of this machine, the more you understand what these setting are, the better someone can choose the right settings for their sites and conditions.. iron bias and recovery speed are local settings, so changes you make won’t affect your other modes.. recovery speed is for separation or it could be used to boost depth and target I’d accuracy by increasing it but you get less separation and risk leaving targets behind unless it’s a non trashy site.. Iron bias is for unmasking targets or increasing the likelihood the detector thinks it’s iron. Hope this helps somewhat. 😊
