Mark, as a spade user having dug many thousands of holes in my time, (a word of advise, ) don't slam your foot down on a spade especially with the instep of your foot, (regardless of what footwear you wear) as you can cause irrepairable damage to tendons. put your heel or the large thick pad of your foot (just behind your toes) on the spade then push down and wiggle the spade in a circular motion, you will find the spade will cut into the soil easier with minimal effort. TRY IT, if you keep using a spade the wrong way you will suffer in the long term finding that walking normal steps very painfull. just a word of warning mate. love your videos. a fellow detectorist.

Not new to the Nox 800 but its nice to watch a video and see what I'm doing with my settings isn't wrong at all. What puzzles me is these people that use beach mode in a field. Will never understand that one. Also that spade gives me back ache just looking at the size of it 😂
@markymarkgonedigging45274 жыл бұрын
The whole beach mode thing is basically set up for real trashy sites mate so when say ur in a roman habitated site it’s real trashy so it does pay to try all settings pal 👍
@lewis5234 жыл бұрын
@@markymarkgonedigging4527 ive always done what you said on trashy sites. Just mess with the recovery speed and change to single frequency. I do wonder what the hidden background setting is that beach 1 does differently to field 1

Hi mate, tried saving these settings and I can’t seem to get them to save? I’ve put them all in and then held the bottom right icon until it beeps. But when I turn the 800 off and go back to field 1 it reverts back to old settings? Any idea what I’m doing wrong?
@markymarkgonedigging45273 жыл бұрын
Should auto save em when you turn on again should be there or press and hold user button on side (right)

Hi mate, really like your video. I just bought the 800 and want to search for coins mainly. I’ve been on a permission today and came across so much iron which I want to avoid. Are these settings on the video good for ignoring the iron and focusing more on the coins, or do I need to alter the settings?
@markymarkgonedigging45273 жыл бұрын
Yes mate just run the iron bias higher till you get used to the machine try 2-3

Alan Rocket you don’t need the wm08 although it does come in handy just run the headphones on they’re on the wm08 is what you use if you have ur own wired headphones that you prefer. And want no lag 👌

Are these settings for the 600 or 800
@markymarkgonedigging45273 жыл бұрын
800 mate but other than obviously not being able to change the tones on the 600 the other bits iron bias I’d run 1 and recovery 2

Hi mark does the 600 have tone volume mate thanks for the help I will try these settings on my 600 also what recovery and iron bias would u use on the 600 any help complete newwbie to the hobby so any help would be grateful thanks mate gl and hh 👍👍👍👍
@markymarkgonedigging45275 жыл бұрын
Daryl Curtis think tone volume is set on the 600 mate but recovery and iron bias I’d run 2 on both till ur used to it then as you get to know it more drop ya iron bias to 1 and recovery adjust depending on conditions I.e if quite lower ur recovery for more depth but you will have to swing slower. My next video be advanced settings etc I will try get my friend out with the 600 and show that way basically run urs exactly how I said for now and just the settings aren’t as adjustable 👌👍

Just wasted £700 on a minelab 600 . It will find metal all day long giving high tones.When that rusty metal has been dug , Put it on the floor and go over it again and it dosn't register but its too late now its dug up! Only way you will find anything with this detector is by spending 10 minutes on a 1ft square patch at a time and take a gamble at digging un stable shit , Because anything over 4 inch is just a mess of tones and ID numbers..The iron should give a recognisable deep grunt , not high ,be it bolts nails whatever , But its not . You cant even discrim it out . Its very confusing to use . Should have kept my garret 400 at half the money of this rubbish , everything was clear and easy to use .The sounds were crisp and easy to identify . Save your money folks because the 800 will perform just as bad as the 600 Cos like these sale men say its basicly the same machine. Buy a cheaper simplex maybe . Because if you ask me this is the same machine but with less.

So easy to use it's unreal. I can tell you don't have a bloody clue what your on about as 1 your talking shit and 2.... mmmmmm can't discriminate iron???? 😂😂😂😂 you don't have a clue so zip it 😂😂.

@@markymarkgonedigging4527 Jargon lol? This is my honest oppinion as a buyer of it .yours is an oppinion as a rep.I found more in 3 hours with a garrett 400 than i found in 14 hrs using the nox.As for moaning £700 as an upgrade to what should have been a much more stable machine is a lot of money to some of us. As you get yours for free selling it with these vids or buying it from your 2 hoards you found 4 inch down.And i cant exactly stick with the garrett can i ? as i bought this hoping it was money well spent.It wasn't.
