I am very happy when I found this wonderful site and this excellent explanation of the metal detector. I bought a 4500 and it lost the sound. There is no longer any response from the device. There is no one to repair it. I was hoping for an explanation from you about the problem of the lack of sound. I hope that you would kindly explain to us all the stages of signal transmission. No sound is usually the broken Mylar connector on the power connector that has broken.

My gpx 4500 had one of the issues described in the video (unit didn't power on due to a break somewhere in the wiring). Went to DetectorMods and David replaced the mylar strip/connector/power switch. Now working perfectly 👍 Would highly recommend them for repairs

Its a waterproof and hide the circuit paint.

I only know of Malaysian and Chinese manufacture.

@@DetectorMods As far as I heard, Plexus company does assembly for Minelab company in three countries: Malaysia, America, Ireland. Did you not see any difference in the quality of the parts?

The only difference i see is how thick the white paint is , be a issue for the repair technicians, Minelab had the equipment to manufacture in Australia but that all went away.

Painting the board is really a bad idea , I think they do that to protect the board from being reverse engeneered,as well as being repaired, rather than protect it from bad environment conditions 😂 excellent for the company, partially bad for the user 🧐

Thank youbmr Woody for sharing all of thos information .my gpx4500 go low depth no more 10 cm . The two smals n channel mosfet were you shaw In input stage and another one in other side of board they burnt . I do not known there names . Can you help pls . Regards

The part for 200 volt input is no longer available from distributors as it was discontinued but i have plenty, 2Sk1334 ,the small ones are 2N7002
