All that skill and talent on an engineering team yet they use conductive carbon fibre lower rods on a VLF like the manticore that screams on the damn thing every time it moves. Nuts.

I'll watch this tonight, but I think I see where it's going. Maybe the time is right for a step up in technology in new directions. The use of AI like interpretation and learning so that the detector can interpret the signals and readings like a seasoned pro. Or maybe on-board learning tied in with accurate GPS that can allow the detector to learn the area. Do a broad scan so the detector gets a feel for the mineralisation variation. Or maybe smarts that allow a group of detectorists to network their detectors and produce a model of the area created by combined inputs. A model that could flag up areas where more than one detector picked up an interesting target.

I have already thought of a system that correlates the digital signature of the ground and process that into a correlated yay or nay on the discovered target, this could be linked into a huge data base but would then be giving all the new comers the same ability of professional prospectors that could be interpreted as intellectual property. Even publishing this can give rise to other parties taking patents out on this type of concept.

@DetectorMods Yes, your recent discussion on the risks and rewards of putting ideas in the public domain highlight the challenges. Seems to me, the evolution of detecting technology is generally driven by the main stream manufacturers and it is fairly incremental - this serves their business model - drip feed models and upgrades. Whereas someone like yourself who understands the technology and isn't hamstrung by corporate mentality will be the driver of real innovation.

@@lindsaybrown7357 All it takes is one set of eyes and even if the ideas seem wild there will be information that with a little bit of divergence may be a complete game changer, but keep in mind that even though I discuss radical departures from the way things are currently being done there are many that I have not yet discussed in public.

@DetectorMods A few years ago I suggested a product idea to a company that creates generic battery adaptors for battery tool users. They were all over me and many promises made about sharing the success. Once they had enough of my ideas,the airwaves went dead - funny that. If I ever come up with another good idea, I'll try developing and commercialising it myself. I wouldn't bother trying to protect it, just work on the premise that I'd get a good return for long enough.

When we developed the stud finder back in 1980 , we had so many copy cats that it made my head spin, so just hit the market hard and fast.

How to combine the Earth's magnetic field with a pulsed metal detector system VLF or PI or ZVT Here I wonder, perhaps there is a different way of understanding it, according to what we know about metal detectors 28:55 Or create an algorithm to build a metal detector (thinking outside the box)

Sir, I found the problem with your detector. What did you find? There is a 'loose nut' on the control pod.

I had a video idea, some people on KZbin say they can tell the difference between gold and non-gold targets by listening how the sound fluctuates using a pulse induction detector assuming the detector is not saturated, I’m curious if you have any thoughts on the topic, thanks
@DetectorModsАй бұрын
There are professional prospectors that can tell what the target is and get it 90% correct.

@@DetectorMods Thanks for the quick reply, my follow up thought is if a pulse induction detector could internally analyze the overall response of a target like the professionals that might be useful, I’m thinking by training an AI algorithm with many detector responses for a type of detector to predict the target, the model produced maybe programmed into a chip that would add audio sound or activate an led if it thinks it is gold or not, just a thought and thanks for the interesting content

@@peterwiseman or what about a collection of prerecorded targets that the user can compare against, what about an app for such things? Guess we will see these shortly or the concept become the big end of towns new patent.
