How that first conversation would have gone for me, playing as engineer: "Those mines are in a terrible spot." "No they're not!" *Friendly vehicle not paying attention runs over mine.* "See, those were stupid mines." *Enemy vehicle shows up suddenly, looks at burning friendly vehicle carcass, and proceeds to slay my entire squad.*

Another tip I try to share with people, people almost always drive in the middle of the road or the side of the road that the country they are from drives on. So if you are in a US server, for example, lay your mines on the right side respective to the direction the enemy will likelyt be coming from. It makes a huge difference in your effectiveness and can allow you to concentrate the mines to do more damage.

5:45 Do not double up on mines when solo behind enemy lines. Place them like 1:26. However, this was a common bug, where the animation gets played, but the mine stays untouched. The game only counts damage if the wheels hit it. The most effective pattern are single mines spread along a road, at least one lanes width apart to prevent one from setting another, varying left to right (like shown at 1:26) Reasons why doubling across any road makes no sense: 1) One mine will 100% take out a logi, unless it goes above 90. 2) The mines that do no damage stay intact, only their location is reveiled, but often even the same driver returning will have forgotten about them 3) If a mine gets triggered by another instead of a tire, it does no damage. A mine will set off others within ~5m. A crosswise spread is only useful if a vehicle is to be stopped by all means (at a bridge infront of a cap f.ex.), as it increases the likelyhood of a tire hitting one directly. 4) If you stack, make a mine stack, it makes any ied pale in comparison: *triple/quad mine stack: Especially in a chokepoint, you can avoid some mines being set off by others by putting them adjacent to each other, so they all get triggered. Lay mines as close to each other as possible in line of vehicle travel and in the most likely tire path. Use 3 for an instant apc kill, or 4 for an instant tank kill, add one one more for instant wreck removal ;)

If you would have hopped on the Arbalet Kord 12.7mm on the tigr, you could have shot at the m113 logistics truck for afar. This is generally a better strategy than running to the vehicle to place c4 😄

@@DannySchultz013 I never doubted that. I simply end up playing sl or flying choppers most of the time cause my short form content rotted brain lacks the attention span to sit in one place for longer than 20 seconds. Speed is life lol.

@ I totally feel you there. My little brother and his friends have officially made me their Squad lead so I’m always having to SL when I wanna be lurking on the edges supporting. I love the roamer role in Siege and it leached into Squad for me so to speak.

7:22 Squad only counts "dig progess" after at least 2 shovelstrokes, so digging once does not do anything. Test: You can oneclick a mine dozens of times, only when you allow two shovel animations, it will progress. If you click once then hold mouse1 on the shovel, the mine will disappear after 3.5 shovel strokes instead of 4. Tip: Remember that arti will undig and then destroy mines, so on caps might as well hold m1 until the shovel stops to somewhat safe them from splash damage. Also 6:30 was a map bug on the left mine, the collision is below the road texture, therefor hiding that one mine.

You're forgetting about your Tigr. The .50cal on that is powerful, it could easily take out the armoured transport you said you had no way to destroy at 8:00

Ive learned there is a logi/transport pro (or con for mines) anything that gets above 70 will activate the mine but wont get any damage. So at 5:48 the driver must of just crossed that 70 to not be taken out.

It was a bug introduced with an update, where mines are supposed to only do damage when the get hit by a tire, but often the vehicle body will set off the animation - without damage or the mine disappearing. Notice how the truck went on the right lane (5:47) with the mine in the middle (4:02). Also any speed below 90 you will at least lose tires.

@ yeah I get what you mean! Those are some things that always frustrated me with mines, so I’ll place one slightly ahead of another to kinda create a chain reaction. Only now I’ve learned that mines too close together will disable and not detonate from a couple people in the comments!

Putting 2+ mines in the same spot is only really effective against armor. I put a full sprint distance between all my mines and average 10+ vic pops. If you hit anything weaker than a tracked vehicle, you are waisting mines. Even tracked vics you just shoot them as they get out to repair. Usually works unless you are on SD and they have thermals.

Typically, I do a zig zag pattern. Wished you talked more about choke points and using terrain to give the possibility to get a hit.

Tank kill I had 2 mines side by side, and he must have been damaged. I hit a Challenger with 2 in the past and he just got tracked!

your mine placement is bad. You should separate them by at least 6 meters (~6 steps) because once one mine is destroyed, all other mines are also destroyed in this radius, meaning that out of 2-3 mines that you place only one is effective and others are just wasted. At that point you might as well just stack them on each other so that if someone triggers them you would blow them up for sure. I am specifically talking about your 6:30 placement as they are very close to each other, but too far to be triggered together.
