For anyone else watching: Minetest will run great even on really weak hardware. It runs faster than Bedrock even, and should stay over 60 fps in all but the most modded scenarios. Even then it should not give you issues unless you turn shaders up too much.

Just to back up your statement My cpu: Intel Celeron N3350 (2) @ 2.400 My gpu: Intel HD Graphics 500 only 4gb of Ram. Runs with tons of mods and no slow down.

The game has quite a few cool biomes. But the survivability in each is dependent on food/resources. Which gives me a bit of inspiration to add certain crops and food items that can only be found in certain biomes for a little bit of help when starting farms for growing food. An example would be exploring some caves and finding weird plants growing in them, or even living in the extreme environments like the desert or snow biomes to live off their unique crops.

If you see on my channel, I tried to make a couple videos with OBS, and it is not good for game performance. Turning on shaders too causes issues in Minecraft. I think it was genuinely 5 fps when I normally get 30+ with most shaders and up to 60 with some lighter ones.

Watching your videos gave me an idea for a mod. A progression system tied to food and cooking. The idea is that you can only eat every so often. When you eat you gain a status effect based on the type of food. Meat might make you tougher by either improving armor or adding max health. Vegetables can give regeneration or over time healing, and grains/fruits add to your max speed or unlocks sprinting, might also increase your range with a melee weapon by half a node. You then can cook using a veriaty of cooking tools or nodes. Preparing sandwiches or pies, to make effects longer or to stack combo effects on specific pieces of food. This will reward the player with a diverse diet and good farms, and allow for exploration in more hazardous environments.

I like the gameplay. Wish there was more "life" in Minetest. Mobs would be nice, both hostile and passive.

There is life, just not much. However some hostile mobs are so frightening and dangerous that I'm glad they don't spawn frequently 😄

If you are the type that likes grinding, you could build a treasury to hold absurdly large amounts of different resources

I think the recording was fine. It's the content that's most important.

I haven't done any major testing, is valleys a viable world tyoe for long-term? Or is it too difficult to get basic resources?

Idea for castle: statue of Sam (default Minetest skin) or your Minetest skin.

That's an awesome idea 😁 Probably the first thing we'll build with coloured blocks
