The original term ‘Dirty Dozen’ does not refer to the movie, but it is reference to the dangerous radio active material used as lume. The movie hadn’t been made when these watches were first produced!

Thanks Zach! BTW you missed the most epic release of the week (that I already jumped on!): the Isotope x Revolution Liquid Mercury. The other Zach would love it, BTW. Lucky me I saw prototype at Windup SF and knew it was a must buy

"General Mean Time" oof 😅 Probably just comment-bait that I'm falling for though 🤷♂️ Great content as always 👌

I think the Toledano and Chan watch is absolutely cool. While I think it was fairly priced, it sadly wasn't a good time for me to spend that kind of money on a watch. I had to pass. I may have to bet my Lapis Lazuli kicks from the Nivada-Grenchen F77, because hey, Father's Day is right around the corner. The Vertex field watch at 36mm should please a lot of people. I'm totally fine with the M100a at 40mm, but wouldn't be upset with a 38 or 38.5mm release. I just sort of wish they were COSC certified or had an SW300 movement at that price. The Ming diver is the first Ming I've really liked. Again though, it's not a great time to be spending ~$5.5K on a watch.

Eh not a fan of the whole pre-order biz, feels like they should just sell them when they are available and give people more time to consider it if it’s so limited.

As an owner of a Ming, I appreciate the pre-order process (especially providing early access to existing Ming clients).

That T&C geometric/asymmetric number is 🔥🔥!! Love everything about it. Totally missed the boat on this one. Sure hope they make more-I might be able to actually afford it.

Same, been waiting since they started for a Ming that nailed everything. In my mind, they’ve been fleshing out their designs and have had some good watches and a really unique style, but I just hadn’t seen a watch that harmonized their style in a quality and cohesive package. But the bluefin looks near perfect. I get the feeling this dial is going to blow people’s minds in person and it will be a cult classic once people see it in the metal. I’m also loving the LW.01 but it’s too expensive for me.

For what it's worth: Shaped watches are cool, but they are not for me. That said, I have a Santos de Cartier, so I also think that I've finished playing the shaped watches game in one boss fight. The rest of my collection is either classically Japanese, or has a distinct sixties vibe. I do appreciate the Brutalist watch, including concrete box. :) The fire-engine watch, however, plays on the worst possible manifestation of British nationalism and the glorification of a long gone imperial past I have seen in a long while. It's gimmicky, tasteless and misplaced given the current state of the UK. Lastly: Spring bars are more solid than screw bars, because the latter can unscrew with wear. Screws either loosen and fall apart, or they corrode and get stuck. I have exactly one watch with screwed bars, and will never make that irritating mistake again. The Vertex is nice, but the screw bars kill it for me. Then put fixed bars, if you want to be fieldy.
