Today at Menta HQ Adam gives you his take on the ongoing Ming "controversy". We are fans of Ming here in the shop, we like their designs and we have sold a few of their watches in the past. Like any company we have our fair share of customer service experiences - most of which are positive - but you can't please everyone! Ming is finding this out the hard way with some of their more recent client interactions. We found the article linked below to be very interesting as Ming responded in a very different way than your average watch brand is "expected" to respond. Most clients would not expect the brands to "clap back" and defend their products the way Ming did, as the status quo for so long has been that "the customer is always right."

Every watch company has a quality control department whose sole purpose is to make sure that their company is producing products that live up to their expectations. Each company has a different tolerance or deviance acceptable to that brands quality control. We mostly deal with vintage watches here at Menta HQ, so our tolerance may be different than those of a current watch producer, as the watches we handle are older, and in our community, slight flaws or inconstancies are expected. In the modern watch collecting community the attitude towards minute flaws are obviously different!
