61.25 is American Ch3 vision carrier, 67.25 Ch4. Won't go black and white when you change as you're just moving the sound frequency, no system M American 4.5 MHz audio on it which would blot out the 4.43 colour subcarrier.

61.25 is pretty close to what was Irish channel C (61.75 MHz, only used in Glanmire and a low power relay at Donnybrook). I wouldn't be surprised if the TV's Band I tuner couldn't tune up to 67.25.

But uses system D/K 6.5 MHz sound carrier. CH3 for 67.75 MHz and CH4 for 73.75 MHz. Unless you use screw driver to switch it’s modulated sound capacitor from 6.5 MHz to 5.5 MHz.

I have one of those modulators sold by Maplin. It was a good little tool, ruggedly built even if it was a tad expensive at about thirty quid twenty-odd years ago. At least it has lasted a good long time. Cheers Oj.

In some European countries, it was broadcast on two TV systems on VHF band Ireland - A 405 lines and I 625 lines France, Paris - pre-war system 441 lines and HD system E 819 lines (image resolution 720х737), until 1955 Belgium - Flanders С 625 lines, Walonia F 819 lines (image resolution 408х737), in the 60s 70s C 625 lines black&white and PAL-B 625 lines Luxembourg - before early 70s F 819 lines (resolution 408х737) black&white and PAL-B 625 lines

Ireland uses PAL-I on VHF from Channel A to Channel J (45.75 - 223.25 MHz range). South African PAL-I VHF channels 4 - 10 same as Irish PAL-I (175.25 - 223.25 MHz). Ireland doesn’t use system A 405 Line TV.

Wow just came across your channel 😊 and Iam hook, Iam 55 retro gamer, buying my first CRT TV next month, a Philips Discoverer, it's being posted from Italy, end of next month. I know the Philips Discoverer has only rf connection some game consoles come with red, yellow, white, inputs for a TV, can I use this product to hook up these consoles to a TV with just rf connection? Also Iam also based in Ireland - portlaoise, a service I might need in the future, do you repair crt tvs, so glad I came across your channel.

Did you modify AV TO RF? It was system D/K before, if you use flat head screw driver to system I sound.

I had one of those Hitachi portable TV's back in the day and have been looking round for one ever since. Can you tell me what the model number was? As I live in England mine was a UHF only version but it was a great set which I eventually gave away but regretted it afterwards. I really enjoy your vids so keep them coming.

Not sure if it was that exact model of Hitachi but there was one just like that where it was near impossible to get the back on and I use to end up just tightening the screws as much as possible to squeeze it up as best as could be.

Can you also buy HDMI TO RF (NTSC-M, PAL-B/G, PAL-D/K, PAL-I : video frequency: 61.25 MHz, 428 MHz: JP CATV 57 / US CATV 58 and 551.25 MHz: UHF CHANNEL 31 for EU/UK/RU / UHF CHANNEL 23 for CN, US UHF 27/JP UHF 26).

Hi Irish Vintage 🙂 I'm a new veiwer and a sub. I was just wondering i have a 1970s tv and I bought a Nes for it but it'll only take the aerial wire. It works but the sound isn't working it's only static and the picture is flickering. Do I need to buy an RF Nes adapter to make it work by any chance Thanks Irish vintage 🙂👍

Comprei um e o som não funcionou não sei se o sistema é diferente ou se veio com defeito a imagem está ok . Levei em um técnico ele abriu e verificou que não tem como corrigir o defeito
