I love paper crafting and origami, this is what I do when I need a container, and can't get to the store, just make them from decorative cardstock or origami paper! The best tool are your hands! Thanks for the video! ❤❤❤
@Iconicake Жыл бұрын
Omg! I love paper engineering and origami too. I wouldn’t make them with card stock or origami paper (because they can burn and possibly cause a fire!) but you can always bake them in parchment liner and then make another liner with paper and drop your muffin in there once baked! 🥰 enjoy!🧁

Yes, these boxes have a lot of uses. They make things look so organized and adorable. In a previous job where we used a lot of paper clips, I made these origami boxes (but with 8.5" squares from US letter size paper) since they are perfect for holding small items. Keeping two boxes on my desk made it easy to sort the large & small ones into separate boxes as they're removed from papers (which makes it quick & easy to grab the appropriate size when needed). After I taught my coworker how to make the boxes, she brought in pretty papers. Our work unit liked how convenient it was to have the little boxes of paper clips at their desks, and her decorated papers made them so cute! It was a simple thing that made the work day a little nicer for everyone. 📎🙂

Really great! I was in a panic as I have relatives arriving today and I already had my batter mixed just to find out the cupcakes liner I bought were moldy! I was so worried I threw them away and found your video! You saved my baking :) I quickly folded the liners as per your tutorial while the oven preheats! Thank you!

Like it.we can try with different color giftwrapping paper.
@Iconicake Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, no because gift wrapping paper is not always food safe and heat safe. It can melt or burn causing chemicals from the ink seep into your baked goods which is not safe to consume.
@Iconicake Жыл бұрын
If you really want to use gift wrapping paper, you can use it as a serving “plate” after you have baked your goods. That would work!

@@EramHashmi-cf9fu Re: "If you really want to use gift wrapping paper…" Idea #1: You could make some with gift wrapping paper by shaping them around an upside down muffin pan (so they're slightly bigger) & slip the parchment lined cakes into the pretty paper cups. Idea #2: I've also seen templates for a flat decorative paper wrapper to slip cupcakes in. (You cut it out & curve it around into a cup like shape. They just don't have a bottom, although you could add one, if you wanted.) This might work better for some decorative paper, since the design won't be warped by the folds. It also probably works best with stiffer papers, but that partly depends on how they'll be used / transported / displayed / etc., & you can always experiment! Here's a tutorial: www.52kitchenadventures.com/2012/07/11/how-make-cupcake-wrappers/ & her printable template: www.52kitchenadventures.com/free-printables/ It's so nice that creative people share their ideas online! 🧁

Can i do the same process for a large size paper to bake a pastry cake without any mould just like the muffins u baked? Will it work?
@Iconicake8 ай бұрын
No, please don’t! 🙏 parchment only works for this size. Otherwise it will not hold… and as you know it may start a fire.

Maybe this? kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZO8gntvfpmAftU
@Iconicake Жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t recommend it because the taller you make it, the more less stable it gets! The batter might push out and leak everywhere because of the lack of stability.

6 inch square paper results in 2 inch muffin ? Wanted to scale accordingly for a larger size
@Iconicake3 жыл бұрын
That’s right! The base of your muffin would be around 2-2.5” in diameter (it would depend on the size of your muffin tray of course, so I would suggest measuring the diameter there). However these liners have more height than the average cupcake liner, so the muffins would be a bit more bigger due to the extra height.

Holy cow this is one of the coolest things ever!! Just wondering how do you make one with taller sides?
@Iconicake2 жыл бұрын
Good question, honestly - I would avoid making the sides taller otherwise your box will become too flimsy… and your batter will spill out!
@geckogekko2 жыл бұрын
@@Iconicake ooooh I didn’t even think of that!! Was thinking of using them for soufflé. I’ll stick to cakes then. Thanks!!
@miriamrobarts10 ай бұрын
I agree that it would probably get too unstable on it's own, but you could try making a cardboard frame (maybe covered with foil if you want) to slip them into to support them. Hmm, you could get a rectangle pan (with square, not rounded corners), then make boxes that fit exactly inside. (This would take a lot of measuring & adjusting the box design!) That way the boxes would support each other (along with the edge of the pan). I've never made soufflé so I don't know how firm it gets as it rises up. If there's enough weight at the bottom, it MIGHT work on it's own. If you want to be brave & risk a mess, you could put it in a big pan lined with parchment (to catch it if it falls), but it might splash on the sides of the oven, so I'd only try it when I had time to do a lot of cleaning, or provide support for the boxes. Good luck, if you decide to give it a try!
