How to Make Cupcake Liners

🧁 DIY Cupcake Liners 🧁
Today I'm going to show you how to do these diy muffin liners with parchment paper and it's super easy! Some folks call them "tulip-shaped cupcake liners" but it's pretty much the same thing!
With simple step-by-step instructions, you'll be a pro in no time. These DIY liners are a must and sometimes if you run out, it's good to have other options that look just as gorgeous! I love using them because they give cupcakes and muffins a fuller appearance, and they would really look stunning with frostings that are piped with Russian piping tips - I imagine it would look like a bouquet! It’s also way cheaper to make your own cupcake liners.
If you’re looking for large DIY muffin liners or if you run out of cupcake liners, all you need is parchment paper! It's so effortless, you'll fall in love with this technique!

✰ YOU WILL NEED ✰
• Parchment paper
• Scissors
• A tapered cup that fits snuggly inside the muffin tray.
✰ INSTRUCTIONS ✰
• Cut parchment paper into squares of: 6x6 inches
• Create mountain folds
• Firmly press parchment down on all sides of the cup
• When you lift the parchment away, you’ll have a cute muffin liner!
• Enjoy!

For those who can't find a tapered cup to fit their muffin trays, I was able to do this by drawing a circle with a compass that matches the diameter of the bottom of the muffin slot and then followed her instructions on how to fold the four creases by hand. The easy method if you are not really a perfectionist, is to eyeball the paper over the glass, then put another glass over it. If you have sturdy plastic beakers (used for picnics and around pools) then even better.

I use an old quilting rotary cutter to cut the 6-inch squares and use white parchment paper because that's what I have. Thank you for showing me how to fold them.

What size paper squares would you use for a muffin pan ~ not a cupcake pan ~ a muffin pan? Thank you for showing us how to fold them! You are fun to watch! Great for when you discover you’re out of liners after mixing up the recipe!

It would really depend because muffin pans can come in a variety of sizes 🙈 my suggestion is would be to find a cup that fits comfortably in your muffin pan and start with a parchment paper that is 12x12 inches. It sounds massive but if your muffin liners are too tall, you can cut down the length then unfold the sheet to find the approximate square of the parchment you need. This way, you can cut out all the other squares in the correct size without having to waste paper from constantly trimming of the tops! I hope that helps!

Really useful! I bought a mega-sized muffin tin, the cups being 2.25" across at the bottom. Naturally, the store I got it from doesn't sell liners big enough for it. 😅 Fortunately, I've found that my 3/4-cup measuring cup should be a good mould for your method.
