I have had this band saw for 3 months, make sure you purchase a spare blade as the 6mm 6TPI that comes with it will break if you cut pine wood around 3/4 thick. I had to purchase a 12mm 4TPI for this. Make sure you balance the blade in the middle of the wheels and if you can... bolt it down as it does shake a bit.

@stimmo77 The 12mm blade is good for cutting 11" clock circles but for cutting curves I in 3" soft weed I would go for a 10mm blade.

Hi I don't suppose you know what that black plastic thing is near the blade do you? I've got the same one and it's snapped and need to find replacement

I have the basa 3 and scheppach don't supply a power cable with it,and everytime you adjust the blade guard up or down for the height of wood to be cut,you have to reset ALL THE BEARINGS!

Actually I also had some problems with my bandsaw but nothing that big. Maybe you can try to reclaim it...

Great ! I have a few questions : -what's the price ? Would you recommand it ? I'd like to buy a bandsaw to cut knife scales in half because they are too thick, how will this bandsaw perfom in this task ? How flat are the pieces once cut, and how thin can they be ?

Hi. The price is about 148Euro. I would recommend it for small workshops but it works very well and can cut wood 8cm thick. Of course it can cut knife scales (just yesterday I did it). The cut is quite smooth when you use a fence but you definitely have to sand it a bit. You can cut 1mm thick veneers using this bandsaw.

This saw can only cut 8 cm thick wood. Is there a trick, hack, way, to increase that thickness, height? 10, 12cm...
