Mini Bike Baja Doodle Bug Side Car for the Do it Yourself Average Home Handyman

Build a Mini Bike side car with common home tools and material from the local hardware store. This side car is attached to the common Doodle Bug but will work as made with any Mini bike with small modification. I will include the tools needed and material overview in the video. Not a great amount of detail, will make a more detailed video if there is any interest. (my first try at You Tube posting)

Haha you brought me back to some good ole memories with this. A long time ago I bolted a movers dolly on to my minibike and threw some blankets, a seat, a car battery and a headlight on it. I lived right next to some awesome dirtbike trails so me and my best bud hit those for a while and then rode a few miles into town on the sidewalk. It was 4:30 in the morning when we finally got pulled over by the cops and they didn't know what the heck to tell us LOL. Absolute best thing I've ever done.

Just built one similar to this , But I welded mine and clipped it to the mini bike so I could Quickly disconnect it from the mini bike so you can ride without the side car if you want to Its very cool !! Thanks For the Idea !!

Neat project. Those 6.5 hp motors are a must on the doodlebugs. Mine tops out at 39 mph. There is a guy on oldminibikes.c@m that sells a kit to put that motor on the doodlebug. It requires no drilling and is very complete. Hope you post a video of it in action.

Yikes! my ankles cringe. Need some passenger leg/ankle protection there. A simple toeboard/shoe saver of 4" extra. With you sitting there in the car, you had another shoe length to play with before steering became a issue. Even the kids will get there feet out past the end of the platform when bounced around. A very neatly build obviously, minus the tin chinese square tube,,but the patterns are there for a sidecar frame and re-suspend. Your outside needs a bit of toe and camber adjust,,hope that was figured in as would be at almost max weight. It could be a deadly squirrely bitch either way unless. Sidecars are no joke. Love the yellow and black and your time involved in the whole thing to get it there.. 1 banger Pit Taxi.
