I’ll always try to restring first. But this is a quick fix when you’re on a time crunch.

wow a LOT easier than untying the bottom strings, clipping the top and hoping they all don't fall off!

Thanks for the video! I have a quick question- I have an issue if my vertical blinds of window not closing properly.In my case, I am having those vertical slat blinds and I have 2 issues and would greatly appreciate your response! (1) In my living room window blinds, only 1 out of the total 9 blinds move when I pull the rope attachment. The remaining 8 blinds just stop moving along with the first one after 2 seconds of pulling my rope attachment so there is this huge gap created when I close the blind and sunlight comes right in.What to do about it? (2) For my bedroom window blinds, i ma having the same issue but in this case 4 out of 9 blinds move after pulling the rope attachment. The remaining 5 just won’t move at all after a while so it creates a wide gap and sunlight comes right in. How to solve this issue? Thanks ahead of time for your response🙏

Man, as a renter I’d hate to see other “quick and dirty” hacks you’ve got for people shelling out money to live in your dump.

And after all this the landlord still keeps your deposit and charges you $500+ when you move out

Why not just take a donor slat and make a little patch under the break? This "repair" looks worse than the original problem.
@chicagohandyman5 ай бұрын
Do you mean… do what was shown in the video but use the entire donor slat instead of using a small piece? That can be done as well.
@VesnaVK5 ай бұрын
@@chicagohandyman not quite. In the video, you take out the two broken slats and put in two entire donor slats, then place patches around the strings/ladders. You wind up with four patches. (If you hadn't accidentally broken the second slat, you would have two patches.) What if instead, you cut a little patch, and used adhesive to stick that patch under the break? Then you'd only have one patch.

I really hope a lot of tenants watch this, landlords (myself) would like not to have to do these type of repairs. I have to call someone to do repairs in my property, handyman prices or not cheap these days, they are by the hour, so it's best that the tenants make the repairs so that they can expediously, get their deposit back, and we want that, so we can get our next tenant in as soon as possible!! Landlords do not want to be bother with repairs after a tenant leave, we want the tenant to clean up and repair everything that is not wear and tear. Give me back my unit in the same condition I gave it to you and I promise you, if that happens you have your deposit back on the spot!!!

Thank you for your comment. People think being a landlord is so easy, but if they only knew how difficult it is sometimes.

LOL, they are cheap blinds. That looked like a normal break from usage. Maybe buy quality stuff so repairs won't need to be made as often. Hope that helps!
