Mini Cooper S R53 Omex Rev Limiter 2-Step Box Install

Here is a quick down and dirty guide to install your omex clubman since i get asked weekly about it. Hopefully this gets you those flames baha. Also I dont recommend using this until you are catless. If not you will be soon. Also if your engine is burning oil this will further damage your engine. So use this device cautiously. Instructions on how to setup the box are at the end of the video!

I just received mine today and installed it similar (r53) to yours. Did you put it in 2cyl mode because of the twin coils on our coil pack? I was able to set the launch control limiter to 3500 rpm, the rev limiter to 6900 rpm (didn’t test). After the settings turned off the car to save and checked that they stayed. When I hit the launch button the leds flash while holding but when I rev it doesn’t stay at 3500 like programmed-keep in mind I’m in neutral clutch out. Do I have to be clutch in in gear with dsc off for it to work. I used the supplied t taps for wire if and I have a good ground and switch power. Good video. Thank you just need a little help.

I have a pretty stock 2005 mini s with twin borla exhaust. i think that means it's a r34? so would this be a good buy? I want bangs! But I also am still confused on how to install ans scared it won't work :(

y0 whats your exhaust setup? I have a R53 with mufflers deleted, debating on going catless with headers

Stock headers with cat removed will give close to the same performance increase for relatively free. You can weld additional flanges to the test pipe if you want to be able to swap out for smog test. I've switched back and forth and passed the test every time. I would suggest adding a small resonator or a small good flowing muffler because straight piped gets loud and a little ricey

I have aftermarket long tube headers, cat delete, 2.5in pipe straight out back to a jcw r56 muffler. In order to swap to r56 rear muffler you have to modify the battery box.

Can I put that box on any car or is it specific for mini? Could in go on my mk2 focus at?

CharlieNicholasWXM It’ll work with any car as long as you’ve got a distributor or coil pack. I think the MK2 Focus has a coil pack, so as long as you get the twin coil version you should be good to go. I know the Fiesta boys use this a lot on their cars, especially on the MK5 which I believe has a similar coil pack to your Focus.

Yeah, it says if you have a twin coil system, to put it as 2 cylinders rather than 4 cylinders
