I think a housing crash will happen because all those people who bought homes over asking price, although it was at a low interest rate, they are over their heads. They have no equity if the housing prices continue to go down, and if for whatever reason they cannot afford the house anymore and it goes into foreclosure because even if they try to sell, they will not make any money. I think this will happen to a lot of people especially with the massive layoff predicted for the future and the cost of living rising at a high speed.

I suggest you offset your real estate and get into stocks, A recession as bad it can be, provides good buying opportunities in the markets if you’re careful and it can also create volatility giving great short time buy and sell opportunities too. This is not financial advise but get buying, cash isn’t king at all in this time!

Same here. KZbin suggested one video, I watched, now it is suggesting so many. With the hydroelectric dams, the engineer in me wants to know how much power it produces. And the comments people are posting also want to know. But then I have to remind myself. There are not practical dams. The reservoir has to be filled from a hose. They are works of art. Art is not required to be practical. These are all wonderful works of art. If I were do inclined, I would automate the gates to regulate the level in the reservoir. But that's just me.
@mycroft16
@mycroft16 2 жыл бұрын
@@magmajctaz1405 I had the same exact thought of throwing an Arduino or similar on there and automating it. You're absolutely right, this is art not a practical thing. But it's still cool as hell. Lived in a house years ago that had irrigation ditch for watering the lawn once a week. Some version of this would have been so fun for that.

As far as I know, there are at least a couple of universities with labs that specialize in pre-testing (read: modeling) actual dam (and generally water flow related) project designs by building large scale model versions (similar to CG's excellent build). If you go to the Utah Water Research Lab site, you'll see lots of photos of such models and which include the topography associated with the planned projects. Very impressive! We worked with them many years back and their faculty researchers are supported by a pool of civil engineering students. So, if Hydraulics is for you, then Utah State Uni is the place to be.

I just to throw my own two cents in. I worked in precast concrete as a project manager and estimator for more than a decade. And while this little project is impressive, I would have like to have seen it as something that was actually diverting a stream and also produced electricity. I would be interested in seeing how much electricity a small stream would produce for say a residence or any other functional structure. That and having the electric motors more inter-grated into the structure itself. Not to mention showing the set-up work as well. How was it designed on paper and how they cut those little pieces of block.

On KZbin there are a couple of great projects (like this one) building a dam at a little creek. Some include producing electrical power, some are not. But in any of this i'm missing one, in my opinion, very important thing. Some kind of (side) canal for fish... whatever to wander up! the creek/river! For nature that opinion is essential. Please consider to add such a possibility to your (really great!) work. In Germany it is called 'Fischtreppe' (fish stairs)

that's not possible, there will be loss of energy during the flowing of water and during the movement of the dynamos (2nd law of thermodynamics), so you will always end up with less energy than what you had before. He can try solar panels tho.
